Honestly? Peppo had much better things to do than guide some lost young girl around. But if there was one thing she knew, people trusted cute girls, so getting on this one's good side would be helpful.
She was not, in fact, lost. (Unless the person who had given her directions had been playing a really bad joke, in which case, the joke was likely going to be on them very soon.)
She smiled at the young woman who had spoken to her, "Yes." She began, "Could you help me get my luggage back to my quarters?" It wasn't that it was heavy; she just didn't want to carry it.
"Of course" Peppo's bright answer belied an inward grumbling which she pushed off with an inward shrug at herself: this was all part of the job. She reached out to take something off the other girl's hands with a "You're on your way to your quarters, miss?"

Well, this one was certainly spoiled. Peppo had to struggle to keep the suitcase in her hand, but somehow managed box, bird, and smile as she followed Huang Rong down the hallway. "So you brought a pet along with you? Is there anything you'll need for it, miss?"
"That thing? It's not my pet. It's just a necessity." She waved it off, without even turning back, "I have everything I need to take care of it."
Then she craned her head back. It wasn't that she didn't believe good people existed. It was just that she didn't believe in the existence of people who did whatever they were told without even so much as a grumble.

"I just joined the crew the day before yesterday. I've never been this far away from home before." Offer a little information, wait for them to start talking... that was always the best tactic.
Ah, I guess we all have those moments. :3the19thchiefSeptember 16 2010, 03:03:28 UTC
"Is that so?" The staff twirled idly in her hand, "I think this is my third time leaving home." Though it was the first time she actually got a real job, because she couldn't very well steal someone else's ticket like she would have done in the past.
At the corner Peppo put down the cage and box for a moment with a grunt, then picked them up again and rushed after Huang Rong. "So are you here to see the world, then, miss? Or do you have business on board?"
She hoped the girl didn't notice how the bird was ruffling its feathers at her. Really, this cage was so hard to balance, what else could it expect?
She heard her things being put down, but didn't bother to slow her pace.
One of her eyebrows shot up, "Not that it's any," She dragged the word with a lilt, "Of your business, but I've been hired to be the new Records Keeper."
It wasn't that she was naturally cruel, but sometimes, when she found someone willing to do things without complaining, she was tempted to push and see how long before they snapped at her.
Oh, the young lady had a job here. One that sounded possibly useful to her, too. Time to try something a little friendlier. "You'll get to know who everyone here is really fast, huh. You're lucky."
"Excuse me, miss? Can I help you?"

"Yes." She pointed down the hall, "I was told that it's down that way." Before starting down the hall without so much as a "please" or "thank you".

She should find out. "And who are you, miss?"

"How long have you been working here, Peppo?"
