LEO VS. UKITAKE fangofjustice August 23 2010, 06:50:26 UTC
Oh, Leo was pissed by the third round. His first opponent had forfeited without battling him in the first round, and his next opponent had forfeited after only a few blows had been exchanged. And then there was this delay in the third round...

He returned to the arena with the nodachi he had chosen at the start of the tournament for his weapon, which had seen far less action than he would have liked.

He craved victory, a sweet victory after a well-fought battle. But at this point, he would settle for bringing a good fight to a full conclusion.

HIBARI VS ERZA icaruschmicarus August 23 2010, 14:47:57 UTC
To say that his fights have been Very Interesting so far was an understatement. The first fight had been up against a swordsman of notable prowess (Link, was it?); the second had been even better, in spite of his opponent's... eccentricities. Overall, he did not regret joining this competition at all.

Hibari stepped into the ring with the tonfa he had picked out as his weapon. The pilot stretched, considered a cigarette, then decided against it. He'd save it for later, either as a celebration of victory or something to take the edge off of losing.

ooc: I-in case this never finishes (likely due to my derp), Hibari's winning this round.

Ah, the semi-finals. Erza had managed through two very interesting matches to get to this point. And now she was up against...

Well, to be honest, he didn't really look like much. Still, Erza knew better than to underestimate someone who had made it this far.

She was armed with a pair of short blades again, going for the safe option against an unknown quantity.

Woman, young, decent build, wielding short blades --

-- wait. She was oddly familiar. Hibari cocked an eyebrow at the other, trying to figure out where she had seen her before.

...Ah, yes.

"You are also on the Convoy, are you not?"

"Correct," Erza said with a nod. "Officer Erza Scarlet, at your service. And you are?"

The thin man looked rather familiar. She didn't think they'd met in person, though.

NENA VS. KANJI pink_is_best August 24 2010, 09:01:47 UTC
Just one more round. If she could make it just one more round, then she'd be in the finals. And assuming that Hibari won (and course he would, how could he not? To Nena, it was unfanthonable.) then they would finally meet up and fight. Sure, they could fight nearly anytime they wanted to, but... there was just something about fighting officially. And it sent a thrill down Nena's spine.

This time, no matter what her opponent looked like, she was not going to take them anything but seriously. She had made that mistake last time and it had nearly cost her the match, there was no way she was going to do it again.

With her fighting gloves and switchblade, the same weapons she had chosen throughout the tournament, the short girl stood calmly, waiting.

Kanji strode through the stadium doors, shield slung over his shoulder. He looked very, very irritated. He'd advanced by default last round, and the one before that had been against an opponent who had already been injured from an earlier fight.

Neither way was a man's way to win.

So when Kanji saw his opponent, he met her eyes with a glare. Shame, she didn't look like much, but he hoped she'd give him a good fight anyway. Besides, being a girl didn't mean anything. Kanji knew some really tough girls. "All right, listen up, whoever you are," he declared, swinging his shield around to slam its bottom edge into the gravel in front of him. "You better take this friggin' seriously, you got that? I ain't advancing into the finals by default. So give me all you've got!" He hit his chest with a closed fist. "Don't you dare hold back!"

A shield, huh. She’d never fought against somebody using that as a weapon before. This match would prove interesting, especially with an opponent that seemed more than ready to fight hard. Rather than respond verbally to her foe’s declaration, Nena merely smirked. It would be to her advantage if he decided to attack first, so she decided to wait to see if he would. If he decided not to, then she could work with that as well.

BRADLEY VS ZEETHA daughterofchump August 28 2010, 12:47:32 UTC
It was a good day to fight. The sun was shining, the crowd was buzzing, and Zeetha was fighting her Captain. Oh yes, at long last her Captain-fighting needs were going to be satisfied, and she hadn’t even had to hunt him down and lean on him to do it. She had drawn him, fair and square. She had always regretted missing the chance with Ryuzaki, her last Captain. Now she would have the chance to test this man out ( ... )

Bradley knew fairly little about his current opponent, even though she was on his ship. This was normal, especially since she was an entertainer and he didn't have much to do with that group, but it did leave him at a slight disadvantage... fortunately, he'd at least gotten to observe her past few fights.

With the fact that the last match was closer than he'd liked (and the fact that his opponent seemed to use two weapons), he'd picked two swords instead of sticking to one. Certainly, it'd make things much more interesting...

He seemed quite calm as the match's beginning grew closer, with a slight hint of confidence in his stance.

"Heh." She made a soft noise under her breath as she watched him take his stance, and as soon as the signal was given she was after him, fast as she could move. Her left hand blade was in a guarding position and she aimed to stab at him with her right.

She could afford to be more bold with her moves, her hand and forearm were encased within the guard of the pata. Functionally, it made her blade the longer one, because the tip of his could no longer hit her knuckles or forearm, and she could use the area around the hand itself in maneuvering and pushing his blade.

The pata needed to be taken care of first; fortunately, it was much more obviously in his field of vision, making it easier to block.

Of course, along with that, he'd have to test her guard; he attempted to roughly hit Zeetha's blade out of the way, though he didn't expect to actually get an opening. It would be easy enough to try it and quickly back away.
