After the political panel, before the burlesque show legallygreen August 17 2010, 20:30:33 UTC
Jennifer was a graceful woman. She could avoid crowds of people with the best of them, and have no problem making her way through, even with the lovely champagne colored parasol over her head. No one got stabbed, very few people even felt the rustle of it as she walked by, and she was very sure on her feet in their heeled slippers. It would have horrified her to think she might have harmed someone as she walked through a crowd of people.

Unfortunately, other people were not nearly so considerate, or graceful.

Her parasol dropped to the feet of a strange man as she was jostled by the crowd, the idea having been to save herself from falling into the dust herself. While her pretty dress and shoes were saved, the parasol had not, and she leaned down, scooping up the parasol and holding it to the side, blushing ever so slightly as she apologized.

"I am so very sorry. I was jostled by someone in the crowd. I do hope my parasol did not land on your feet." She said immediately, looking him over for any sign of injury.

Luckily for Adachi he's always been rather quick on his feet (quick to jump, quick to run) as well as being more alert than usual today, so he manages to step out of the way just in time. He frowns at the parasol before getting ready to turn and carry on his way-

...oh. Someone's stopping to apologize to him.

"Ahh, it didn't," he began awkwardly, rubbing the back of his neck, "Don't worry about it."

Jennifer gave him a charming smile before she turned and shook the dust out of her parasol. She then lifted it over her head again, and looked him over once more. "Are you quite certain, sir? I would hate to think I had done any damage."

"Really," he began, smiling himself in an attempt to prove this, "I'm fine! It missed me completely." Thankfully, one Hanami injury averted so far!

AT THE BEGINNING OF THE FESTIVAL orphism August 17 2010, 21:01:55 UTC
Minato had never been to the Hanami Cloud Festival before, and so it was his first time attending. He didn't know what to expect, other than flowers falling from the sky. He didn't expect them to be so beautiful, though, with blossoms of all shapes, sizes, and colors floating gently towards the ground. Looking over at the list of events that were to happen, it looked like it was going to be quite a busy festival as well.

By chance, he had wandered into the same area as Adachi, and happened to notice the man sigh. Oh? Was he having a bad day? Or maybe the festival signified something bad for him. Either way, Minato, having not much else to do, went over and started the conversation himself.

"Lovely weather we're having, isn't it?"

"Hmm?" Adachi turned his head to see who was talking to him. After acknowledging the boy though he turned his head away again, looking up a the sky and rubbing his neck.

"Yeah, I guess so."

He guessed so? Maybe this man wasn't very taken in by flowers. Though, now Minato couldn't help but idly wonder what would happen if it rained at the same time the flowers fell. Was that even possible? If it was, he would like to see it.

Today, however, the Norton Cloud was only raining blossoms.

"Do you live here, or did you come for the festival," he asked.

Just who exactly was this kid anyway? What was he, bored or something? He must be, to be so interested in conversation with him, of all people here. Not that he really minded… yet, anyway.

"Ahh no, my ship is here doing security actually. I'm here simply for business reasons," he explained, turning back to the boy and waving his hand in the air as if it was no big deal.

Sometime early afternoon.. some.. day? miraclehymn August 17 2010, 22:23:26 UTC
Despite her best efforts, it was a fact that Miss Paula Polestar had yet to properly meet everyone on the Convoy. She had seen them during meals and through out her days, but there were still a significant number of them that she hadn't gotten to talk to yet. Things had been busy, busy, busy.

So busy, in fact, that Paula felt like she had hardly stopped to appreciate the falling flowers of the festival at all. She was bound and determined to do so this day! She had some extra candies from the festivities, and she was going to go out and enjoy it. Nothing was going to stop her!

Not even that vaguely familiar looking guy! Except no, wait, he did get her to stop. Paula made her way over to him, wearing a smile as she did. Maybe she could combine the whole "enjoy the festival" and "get to know people" aspects together.

"Hello!"

Adachi stopped and looked around. Was that "hello" for him? Then he saw the blonde girl, one he'd seen around the Convoy a couple of times before. A new crew mate, right?

"Hey there!" he replied, smiling. Time to put on his best I-DON'T-OBVIOUSLY-HATE-BEING-HERE-RIGHT-NOW face!

Ahhh, he suddenly seemed to pep up quite a bit! Maybe a bit too much, but Paula hardly seemed to notice or mind that particular detail. "You're from the Convoy, right?" Paula seemed fairly confident that he would answer positively, as she just kept going on with introductions without waiting.

"It's nice to meet you! My name's Paula."

Adachi nodded in response to the Convoy question and recognized her name when she said it, having seen it on papers and hearing it on the network before.

"Oh, the new cook right? My name's Adachi, one of the records keepers. I had to look over and file all your records when you joined. You've only been with us for a little while, right?"

Elizaveta was dragging, which was unusual for her usually perky, cheerful self. Training with Lee was terrific, she was sure she'd be stronger by now, but damnnn did her muscles ache.

It was getting darker out now, and the cabin girl had decided she'd go out to see what the festival was like later in the day, and maybe even find a nice bar where she could get a beer to wind down with. Anything was better than lying around wallowing in her soreness.

Holding her apron out in front of her to catch flowers as she walked along, Elizaveta had acquired quite a large pile of them when she absentmindedly walked straight into a young man. She'd walked into him so hard there was a literal explosion of the flowers she'd collected.

Adachi himself hadn't really been paying attention to his surroundings. He'd been standing still, thinking about going back to the ship or staying around to see what Balisier had to offer in the evening... and of course not taking into consideration that he was an obstacle in people's way.

So it served him right when a girl walked into him hard enough to knock him over. And of course he didn't land gracefully; he landed smack dab, face first right on the ground. Ouch. So much for avoiding Hanami injuries.

"Oww..." he moaned as he sat up and rubbed his face- oh cripes, why the heck were there even more flowers now?!

Elizaveta fell backwards the other way, landing hard on her bum in a flurry of skirts.

"Oof.." she groaned, her body already sore, and now just that much more. She tried to brush off the numerous flowers, but gave up this task when she noticed the other victim of the collision sitting before her.

"...ah! Are you okay?" She gasped.

Adachi groaned, "Yeah, yeah, I'm fine..."

Then he actually bothered to look at who bumped into him. Hey hadn't he seen this person on the ship a few times recently too...?

"What about you?" he asked, tone becoming softer and a lot less grouchy now that he realized he might be talking with a crewmate. "You're not hurt are you, ma'am?"

Angel was attempting to be stealthy. She was following him, but very slowly, subtly approaching as she moved through the crowd. Just to see if she could get close enough to get a bit of a jolt out of him before he noticed.

Had he realized she was following him yet? She wasn't sure. To test, she leaned in close enough to talk straight into his ear, and asked:

"Enjoying the festival?"

Fully aware that he wasn't.

Had he noticed her? The answer: definitely not. At least if that startled jump was any indication.

When he landed he whirled around, taking a few steps back to get away from whoever that voice belonged to. "N-Nee-sa-!!" he began after he saw who it was, but cut himself short just in time. In that time he managed to settle down and smooth his shocked face into an unamused grimace. "...Miss Star," he said flatly in a tone just as unamused.

"No. I'm not. What the heck are you doing here?"

"What you aren't: I'm enjoying the festival," she replied unhelpfully, giving him a teasing smirk.

"The real question is why you're moping around here if you hate it so much. I take it your new ship didn't give you much choice in the matter, though, did they?"

It didn't take much to deduce that he had taken a job on a new ship after the crew of the Serenity had gone their separate ways.
