Zoë pushed the door to the infirmary open, stepping inside. She'd heard that one of the ship's youngest had gotten hurt during the pig hunt doing something truly stupid, and she'd decided to pop in for a word. She was a bit concerned, to say the least.

"How you feeling?" she asked as she stepped inside.

Kaoru tilted her head. The light in the infirmary somehow made her look even more pale, a feat once thought impossible without copious amounts of makeup or walking into a pile of flour. She blinked up at the woman.

"Hurt," she replied without much intonation, "but passable."

Zoë raised an eyebrow. Lord, but this girl was creepy. The light certainly didn't help, but there was just something off about her.

Still, wasn't the girl's fault, though. Zoë pulled up a chair, and sat by the edge of the bed. "That's our doctor, for you," she said. "He'll get you back on your feet in no time, you just hang tight and let him know if there's anything you need, alright?"

"Okay." She thought for a second. "Those pigs were strong. The lunch woman said that they weren't normal pigs. What are normal pigs like?"

It was a good thing that not much damage had happened with this whole thing. Though he had been mostly out of the action until the end, he had been out there long enough to know how dangerous it was. To be honest, it was almost a miracle that the ship had managed to get out without much damage from everything that had happened. Despite their tendency to be in the worse situations ever, they did have their fair share of good fortune.

Well, at least it was all over with now. Fortunately not too many people got hurt in this, but there was still a fair amount of work to be done. Being one of the more experienced doctors in the crew, Isshin had taken up the task of patching up the more seriously injured ones - such as one Kiryuu Karou, who he supposed had woken up by now.

Stepping into the infirmary proper, the man made his way towards where she was, a smile on his face as he greeted the girl. "Hello, Karou-chan. Are you awake yet?"

Kaoru moved her head to look up at him. "Dr. Kurosaki, right?" She nodded. "Yes. How long am I supposed to be in here?"

"Yes, that's me," the man replied, smile widening just a bit as he picked up the clipboard at the side that contained the patient date for the girl on the bed. Well, it seemed that nothing bad happened here; just some painful wounds and bruises, but those would all heal in time.

Placing down the board, Isshin looked at Kaoru once more and answered her inquiry. "Just a few days. We need to make sure you're properly healed before he can let you out." Mainly just for safety's sake - you'd never know what could happen these days.

"Oh." She frowned. "That pig was strong. Are they all like that?"

Apparently, someone at the pig hunt got hurt for punching a giant boat in the face. Someone young, that is. When you have a job that works with children, you can tend to worry for them. Even though that was pretty much a stupid thing to do, but hey, some people probably never know how to deal with other creatures.

Erika pushed the door open, stepping inside. Vileplume stayed outside, only to not take up too much room with that giant flower. The young woman closed the door behind her.

"Um.....Are you alright?"

Oh, it was the woman with the monster for a pet. Kaoru looked over at her and nodded.

"It hurts. I'm all right. Why?"

"That's good." Erika said, before taking a seat in one of the empty chairs that is up against the wall. Hopefully, she won't be in any of the doctor's way.

"Well, when someone gets hurt, people will be concerned about them."

Ryuuken was making his rounds of the patients the next day. Some were free to go, having healed up sufficiently. Others had more serious injuries. It was time to check on the young woman with the dark hair and the flat eyes.

"Miss Kaoru," he said, approaching the bed. "Sit up, please. Your bandages need replacing." And he would check the healing's progress. Perhaps she could be released, and the bed could be vacated in case something else happened.

Kaoru pulled herself up by her arms. "All right. I don't really care." Ignoring the open privacy curtain altogether, she pulled off her hospital gown and dumped it onto the floor in a heap, revealing her bandaged side.

Good, she wasn't making a fuss. It was unusual to see a girl with a total disregard for modesty, but Ryuuken appreciated the practicality. Quickly and precisely, he unwrapped the bandages and set them in a bin to wash.

Examining the injury, the doctor's eyes narrowed. "How do you feel?" he asked. He could release her today or tomorrow -- as long as she didn't do anything strenuous to aggravate her wound, she should be all right.

"All right," Kaoru replied. "It hurts, but I can move around okay. It's not important." With her tone of voice, it would seen that things she did find important were hard to find.
