Hey, Jean's temper isn't THAT bad... most of the time. gypsymothdance June 12 2010, 23:54:10 UTC
The dancing girl had planned to go find Ruby herself... but only after she was done working in the kitchen, that is. Jean had a hunch Ruby was going to be hungry, and so it seemed appropriate to make the dragon her favorite dish as a welcoming gift. Thus, the whole kitchen was filled with the delicious smell of frying fish.

While she worked, she hummed a familiar light and bouncy melody. She didn't know how to play something like an ocarina, and she wasn't quite the singer Lucia was, but Jean certainly knew how to carry a tune.

This was exciting. The last time she had seen any of her friends from her days traveling with Hiro had been over a year ago. Time had literally flown by since they had split up.

It's only fair to warn the unsuspecting masses. handsoffmyhiro June 14 2010, 20:56:19 UTC
Time had flown indeed, and this sudden blast from the past had her wondering about where their other companions had gone. Lemina was likely in Vane or thereabouts, but what had become of Ronfar? And, though it hadn't been quite as long since their particular split, she couldn't help but think of where Hiro might be now. Had he found Lucia? Or, was he still looking, following some mysterious trail to the humorless blue-haired girl ( ... )

True. After all, when Jean gets mad, asskicking tends to ensue. gypsymothdance June 15 2010, 00:08:18 UTC
"Ruby!" Jean turned at the sound of her voice.

And sure enough, there was the pink dragon that she remembered so fondly despite all the fire-related incidents that tended to happen around her. Ruby would have no trouble recognizing her in return: Jean looked the same as ever, other than the apron she had tied on over her dress, and her ponytail being wrapped up into a messy bun to avoid frying her hair.

She was so overcome by joy and nostalgia that she couldn't help but abandon the frying fish momentarily to give the dragon a warm hug. "Oh, I'm so happy to see you again, Ruby. You wouldn't believe how much I've missed you!"

You won't like Jean when she's angry? handsoffmyhiro June 15 2010, 21:23:14 UTC
She couldn't help it that fire-based disasters seemed to follow her! So maybe she let her temper get out of control one too many times and might have accidentally set some things on fire that she probably shouldn't have. But hey, people make mistakes.

The hug took Ruby by surprise at first, as hadn't been expecting such a warm welcome, but it was returned the instant the shock wore off.

"It's really good to see you, too," she replied, a wide grin already plastered on her face. "I can't believe how long it's been! You haven't changed a bit."
