"Ice cream! Ken-chan's buyin' me ice cream!"

Seven years old or not, Yachiru was still clinging to Kenpachi's back. She was small enough, and it's not like her barely fortyish pounds were going to kill Kenpachi's back. "An' can we get rice balls an' candy?"

He didn't mind her clinging--he'd rather she stayed close after the last time she got lost. He chuckled at her request. "Rice balls, yeah. Candy, we'll see. Just a little bit, probably." He did want her to sleep tonight, after all. There was a stall that sold rice balls now, actually...

Yachiru grinned and climbed up so she was more or less perching on Kenpachi's shoulder. "An' we c'n get some of Ken-chan's sake!" she added. "Then we'll both be happy!"

"Sounds good ta me!" He headed to the stand where he bought some riceballs and sake from a very, very nervous shopkeeper and then went to sit down on a dirty bench nearby. He unwrapped a couple and handed them to Yachiru.

It sure was good to be like this again--back with her and just the two of them. Even if it had been months since he found her again, he still wasn't going to take it for granted.
