Characters: Chi and various folks on the Victoria Content: Chi is bored and chasing a bit of fluff on the deck. Setting: Vicky deck Time: During the ships trek towards Erealia Warnings: Bratty kittens and tsuntsun grumps
One particular piece of fluff that Chi was playing with caught the attention of one runaway egg-thing.
Meg, Millie's pet, had gotten loose and was wandering the ship. So far she'd played with a few of the other pets on board, but they were all boring and not very happy. So, when she spotted the cheerful kitten, Meg scurried over to play.
(Meanwhile, Millie was running around in a panic, looking for her.)
Chi on the other hand was more then happy to see Meg! The two hadn't gotten a chance to play with the chocobo eater attack. The kitten squealed, running over and rubbing the top of her head again the little egg pokemon and purring up a storm.
"Prii~!" Meg hugged the kitten, making please 'preee' noises. "Toge to-preeeee-to?" It was weird to see Chi without her pet human, the Grumpy Egg and Oil person.
"Topreto!" Chi parroted back, having a pretty good idea what Meg meant. They didn't share a language, but she could pick out a few 'words' just due to being around the pokemon often enough... as long as they were words she heard a lot. "Toshirou is working..."
Her ears drooped and a slightly sulky look crossed her face. "He never wants to play!"
Katsura was doing his job, for once. Or, at the very least, he was attempting to. At some point he'd gotten confused and was now standing on deck trying to remember what it was he was meant to be doing.
And then he caught sight of the kitten on deck, and any thought besides 'oh, how cute' was completely gone from his head.
"Ah...this isn't the best place for you to play," he commented as he approached. "It's dangerous to be on deck while the ship is moving. You could fall off." He was just concerned for Chi's safety.
The Quartermaster smiled back, hunching down to scritch the kitted lightly. "Stay well clear of it. The ship could tilt unexpectedly." Not that it was likely, unless they were attacked or encountered unfriendly creatures of the sky, but it could happen.
Oh! This was one of the new people. She had smelt his scent around before, but had yet to see him in person. Her ears twitched as she watched him carefully... but he seemed nice enough. She stopped playing for a moment to greet him.
Chi still didn't quite understand the whole "not talking" idea... since she could understand other cats AND people just fine. So she just giggled and moved closer, hoping to be petted.
Hisoka spotted the lively little cat as he was crossing the main deck, on his way forward to a companionway hatch that would take him down to the officers' quarters. He had his dufflebag over one shoulder and his sword and satchel slung from the other.
"Hello," he said, his own green, catlike eyes bent kindly on Chi.
Oh! This was a scent she didn't know! She paused, blinking at him for a second before giving in to curiosity and trotting over, tail held high. If he was mean she'd just scratch him!

"Katsura!!" She mewed, hopping over and twining against his legs, sheading fur everywhere.
"It's okay! I won't climb the side..."

"It's kinda scary on the side... I'll be good." She purred even more, a little motor boat, as Katsura scratched her. "Eeee.. feels good!"

"Hadn't realized you could keep pets here."
He bent down and watched it bat around the bits of plant fluff.
