Chase was exploring the ship when he came across the cat. He tilted his head and stared quizzically at it.

"Hadn't realized you could keep pets here."

He bent down and watched it bat around the bits of plant fluff.

Oh! This was one of the new people. She had smelt his scent around before, but had yet to see him in person. Her ears twitched as she watched him carefully... but he seemed nice enough. She stopped playing for a moment to greet him.

"Hi!"

His eyes widened in surprise and he fell backwards with a thud. Cat's weren't supposed to talk!

"Y-you can talk?"

Chi still didn't quite understand the whole "not talking" idea... since she could understand other cats AND people just fine. So she just giggled and moved closer, hoping to be petted.

"You can to!"

As the cat came closer, Chase fought the urge to move back and run. It was a ridiculous urge after all. He cautiously stuck his hand out at it, he obviously wasn't expecting the cat to shake it, but Chase thought that this is what you normally did with animals.

"Uh... yeah...." Remember his manners he added. "I'm Chase, Robert Chase."
