It was strange how quickly Long Night had crept up on him. He'd been so busy lately chasing leads and fighting for interviews that Phoenix had paid little attention to the date.

Phoenix was in a lull, and though he knew he was very close to finding what he needed, there was nothing more he could do today. So he was walking back to his cabin when he spotted an open door and a small....creature beating the dust out of a feather duster outside of it. That was curious enough to make Phoenix stop and glance inside the room, spotting its occupant.

Millie, wasn't it? He hesitated, wondering whether or not to greet her...she seemed sort of busy at the moment.

"Meg, don't destroy the duster and--oh! Hello, Mr. Wright!"

Millie smiled at the reporter, wiping sweat from her forehead. "I didn't see you there! How are you today?"

He smiled back at her. She'd always struck him as one of the saner people on this ship. "I'm good, thank you," he replied. "And you, Miss Thompson? How was your Long Night?" he asked politely.

Then he noticed something.

"You're cleaning? I'm sorry, did I interrupt?"

It actually brought back memories, for him. Mia had always insisted that the ship (or office, depending on where they were) be cleaned at the start of the new year, and often, Phoenix had wound up doing a lot of the work. Still, it was nice to have a clean start at the beginning of the year, so he could understand it.

"No, you didn't interrupt! I was just about to take a break anyway!" Millie smiled at Phoenix, and pulled out a metal container. "Tea?"

It had been a extremely late Lunasa gift from her family, the thermos. It kept her tea warm enough to drink, thanks to a mana crystal, so she'd always have something to drink wherever she went! Even when her lucky bandana fell over her eyes, like it had just now. "Oh, fudge."
