Paine, unfortunately, had already been informed who she'd be working with, and tried not to dread it too much, especially since she knew she'd probably be bumping into her coworkers sometime very soon. But she'd been hoping it wouldn't be as soon as she first stepped foot into the gunroom, where she could see Gippal of all people seated there, talking to her. Yeah, it was gonna happen eventually. Who was next, Baralai?
She didn't dwell on the thought for too long, so rather than standing there dumbstruck in the doorway, the girl padded over to where the wrench lay on the closest table, and picked it up only to casually lower it into Gippal's outstretched hand.
"You're welcome."

Wait.
That voice. Gippal knew that voice. Fortunately, he wasn't the klutz that Rikku was and managed to remove his head from the innards of the weapon he was working on, before sitting up to double check that he wasn't imagining things.
He wasn't.
"You!" He blurted out, less than brilliant conversation starter, but she took him by surprise.

"It's nice to see you, too," she quietly returned, anchoring one hand to her hip as she gazed at the blond. It shouldn't have been a shock that he still had the eye patch, but it made something indistinguishable stir in her gut -- recognition. Memories. Paine hadn't exactly missed him, but to be honest...
... she'd missed having people she could consider friends.

"Well if it isn't Dr. P!" he replied with a charming grin. It was good to see her after all. "What're you doin' here?"
