Characters:Kisa and the crew of the 4423
Content: Kisa plans to finally make her escape after stowing away on the 4423 days earlier. But will she finally be discovered by the crew
Setting: The 4423
Time: Early in the morning, the day after the 4423 makes port

It really was rather early in the morning, but Komachi had found that if you wanted to avoid people, really early in the morning was usually a good time.

And when you wanted to practice with a sword most people disapproved of you having, you wanted to avoid people. So, as Kisa ran out onto the deck, she would be heading straight for a small girl brandishing an unsheathed sword, an expression of extreme concentration on her face.

Kisa had been glancing to the side at first, so she hadn't noticed right away, but...as soon as she turned to face forward and saw the sword pointing right at her...

A high-pitched scream echoed across the ship as Kisa forgot to hide and followed her instincts...which were basically to run like all hell had broken lose in the opposite direction of the sword.

Komachi had been concentrating hard enough that it took her a second to notice the other girl's approach. She started to lower the sword, a look of friendly bemusement replacing the concentration on her face, and was about to greet the stranger when Kisa screamed and started running.

Komachi immediately took off in pursuit - her intentions were entirely friendly, but that was something which might have been slightly more obvious if she'd remembered to sheathe or drop the sword before setting off.

"Hey, wait up!" she called as she ran after the fleeing girl.

Kisa stole a wide-eyed glance over her shoulder, a whimper rising in her throat as she saw the girl following her. The sword was still in her hands, and that was a big warning sign. She had to get off of the boat, and fast, before this girl caught up to her!

Kisa stumbled over the tattered bottom of her dress before rolling up to the ship's railing. She let out a hurt peep before pushing herself onto her feet and scrambling up to the railing. If she could just find the dock and jump off the ship before they caught her...!

"Hey, be careful!" Komachi was usually fine with the whole climbing-on-the-railings thing; she did it enough herself, but if this girl tripped over her own clothes running, she probably shouldn't be climbing stuff. Even when they were docked, the railings tended to be quite high off the dock itself.

Dropping the sword onto the deck with a clatter, she jumped forward to grab the other girl by the shoulder.

Kisa was just about to jump off when she felt the hand grab her shoulder. Suddenly she lost her balance, whirling her arms out in an effort to stay onto the rail. Eventually though she felt her feet slip, and she tumbled down onto the stranger.

As she fell down onto the girl, Kisa felt the apple she had stolen slip from her hands. Her eyes widened and she dived for the bit of food, holding it tightly and backing away from the girl with a frightened stare. She was small...maybe Kisa could fight her. But she hated fighting...all she wanted to do was get off with her food before she got in more trouble.

Seeing the frightened look on the other girl's face, Komachi held her hands up placatingly, and tried to look friendly. "Hello," she ventured, looking the stranger up and down. "You don't live here, do you?"

From the way the girl was clinging to her apple, Komachi guessed that was what she'd come for...but it seemed like a bit of a small thing to sneak onto a pirate ship for.

Kisa looked at her curiously, her hands clasped tight around the fruit. She managed a little nod to her question, before slowly beginning to scoot to the side and in a circle so that she would be closer to the railing. It didn't look like the girl was going to hurt her...not yet anyway. But if she found out that Kisa had stowed away by mistake, that could change.

Komachi stepped to the side as Kisa moved, to keep facing her - and getting between her and the railing in the process.
"So what're you doing, then?" Komachi asked the question in a friendly tone, trying not to scare the other girl any more. "Must be something you wanted, you don't just wander on somewhere like this by mistake."
