Hall on the way to the Infirmary why_halo_there October 22 2009, 20:54:52 UTC
Hikari shuffled down the hall, brow furrowed, shoulders drooped, and hands tense. Even if Shinjiro said he was okay, he still needed to take it easy. He couldn't just hop back into the swing of things like nothing happened; that was a surefire way to get himself hurt. Again.

However, there was a problem: she wasn't really sure how to help him. While she had some knowledge of medicine thanks to Dr. Tohsaka, it was mostly limited to first aid. Maybe it would be a good idea to go to the infirmary and ask the doctors there for advice - if they weren't too busy, that is.

Isshin had been bringing over some files from his room to the infirmary at the moment, having finished looking over them earlier. With one crew and three doctors, it was almost a miracle how things didn't seem to be so busy half of the time. The man guessed he was lucky enough to be in a crew that didn't have a tendency to injure themselves most of the time, or things would have been quite different otherwise.

He had noticed the other down the hallway as he headed over, and came up from behind her, announcing his presence with his usual cheerful call. "Afternoon, Hikari-chan! Were you heading down to the infirmary?"

"Ah, yes," she said with a vigorous nod. "I wanted to ask you something, if it wasn't too much of a bother."

Well, this was something new. The man paused for a bit, blinking at the inquiry for a moment due to the surprise - but soon enough got over it. The usual cheerful grin was on his face as Isshin responded quite happily. "Why of course, it isn't a bother at all! Feel free to ask me anything at all, Hikari-chan!"

Yay for random hallways! swallow_wing October 23 2009, 06:17:30 UTC
Cirucci stopped dead in her tracks when she saw him turn the corner.

She hadn't spoken to him in some time, no, but the mere memory of when he had tried to set her up with that old man still left a foul taste in her mouth. She didn't know why he had bothered, anyway; he suited that boring friend of his more than she ever could.

Crossing her arms in front of her chest, Cirucci paused in place. Normally, she wouldn't be averse to making the first crude comment, but she might as well see if he merely passed her by instead.

Isshin, being Isshin, was never the guy to simply just pass by people and not greet them - it was rude, for one, and it just wasn't in him to not notice people when he absolutely had to. He was quite the social butterfly, when the times were necessary. Like now, since everyone was either injured or hard at work repairing the extensive damages to the Silvana.

So of course he had noticed the other, and immediately paused in his way down in order to send his usual greeting at her. "Afternoon, Cirucci-san! I trust you're well?"

Cirucci felt her eyebrow twitch as he slowed down and eventually halted, but kept her voice cool. "Oh, fine." Her gazed traveled from his head to his feet, taking him in with a critical eye. "Mm, you look cheerful as always, don't you...can it be that you and your friend have finally discovered what a perfect match you are?"

The last time she had been in the same room with them (and alone, at that), the display of ...affection between the men had been truly bizarre. Cirucci was the one who had insinuated something was going on between the two men, and yet somehow Isshin had gotten punched for it. It had baffled her, but at least provided her with a good exit.

Now, though, an inkling of curiosity did strike the Privaron. She quirked an eyebrow, awaiting his reaction.

A somewhat confused look crossed the man's face at the rather strange question coming from Cirucci, but it disappeared within a minute as Isshin only grinned after that. His tone was quite chipper as it always was as the doctor replied to the question. "Of course we're a perfect match! Ryuuken and I have been friends for over twenty-years, after all!" If he actually knew what the other was implying, the man was ignoring it very well.

Either that, or he was just that oblivious. Which wasn't too surprising, given his charm and demeanour.

The ghost was now gone, but the damage had still been done. The ship was in shambles and it was going to take a bit of time before it was looking respectable once more. Agrias was overseeing the cleaning effort, and she was satisfied with the speed it was going. That is, once everyone was sure that the inanimate objects of the ship were, in fact, now inanimate once more and not going to fly up and attempt to kill them. Not one to just give orders, she had contributed her own manpower to the cause. In doing so, she had neglected her own quarters, and took a break from fixing up the ship to tidy it up, getting it back to the orderly state it was before the ghost attacked.

She had just finished up and was exiting her cabin when she noticed Isshin down the hall. Ah, this was perfect. She had some things she wanted to talk to him about.

"Kurosaki," she called, approaching him. "Are you busy at the moment?"

After managing to finish up some work around the living quarters with Sara, Isshin had left the girl back to her own devices after bading her a cheery farewell. Sure, they hadn't talked a lot and mainly just did work, but it was still nice to spend his time with the youth regardless. Even if Sara was silent most of the time - she was still a nice girl, in spite of her tendency to drift away from other people. Isshin made a mental note to try and get around with her more often as he went down the hallway he was at currently. With his shift over and not much to do, a walk around the ship seemed like a good idea - with the occasional pause to help around, of course ( ... )

If there was something Agrias could rely on Isshin for, it was bringing a smile to her face. The man's cheerful attitude was terribly infectious, (for her, at any rate) and he was a diligent worker; a credit to the Silvana's crew. She would like to spend more time with him on non work related issues, but that was something she could bring up another time. Business before pleasure, of course, and there was a lot for her, and probably him, to do in order to get the ship and crew in working condition once more.

"First of all, I had heard you did a wonderful job assisting in the handling of the ghost in the engine," she said. "I wish to congratulate you on your hard work."

Isshin only beamed at that, feeling quite pleased at the compliment; proud man or not (and he certainly wasn't), one really had to be quite happy when given such praised by one's superior. Even though Agrias was much younger than him, he did still treat her with a lot of respect, since she was the first mate. As oblivious as Isshin may be at times, he was actually far more level headed than most of the other crew members. Not that it was anything the man was displaying unless necessary - he'd rather be the cheerful, dorky self everyone was more used to seeing.

"Ah, its nothing at all!" the doctor returned, "I just did what had to be done for the crew and ship." It was just another day for him in the end - even if the whole thing had ended on a rather strange note. He really needed to keep an eye out on the spirit world when he could in order to prevent anything like this from happening again.

THE DECK, IE, RAMZA'S ONLY HAUNT EVER. sekaikawaranai October 25 2009, 18:48:45 UTC
In the light of what happened, perhaps a man would be happy that it was over. And in a sense, Ramza was glad. It meant that things would be a bit more peaceful at least, though at the same time...he had been grateful for it, in a small way.

It delivered him a distraction from all the things he had been dealing with as of late.

Delita's sudden status of living, his arrival on this ship, getting himself situated...Even with Lunasa and all the time involved on the Silvana, he was either working or looking out at the sky on his breaks, the soft sound of the ocarina Tear gave him floating out into the air in the mornings.

...

If Alma was there...she probably would have told him to stop worrying, and perhaps would have laughed at him a little.

Funny. He probably would have laughed at himself.

After this, I should return to the living quarters.

Even on his breaks, Ramza Ruglia had to help somehow. And that was exactly what he was doing.

And Isshin had just been down right on Ramza's way towards the deck at the moment - though be it because of fate of fortune, the man really didn't know. And he couldn't care much anyway; whatever the world gave him, he would simply take it with a smile. That was how he had always worked with the world, and he wouldn't stop that until the day he died.

Being the ever cheery guy, he had greeted the other upon sight. "Good day, Ramza-san! Taking a break?"

Ramza blinked, glancing up from his work, only to notice one of the medical staff moving towards him, with that ever-cheerful smile. Out of all the people on the Silvana, Kurosaki Isshin was one of those that Ramza enjoyed being around the most, regardless of how rarely he found time to speak to him.

"You could say that, yes." Ramza said, brushing some of his golden hair from his eyes. "And you?"

"Ah, I was just taking a walk around the ship myself!" he responded, all smiles and sunshine as he grinned back in return. His shift had been over and he didn't have much to do, so getting to know the crew better had been on his list of things to do. After all, he had already been on this ship for a good while already but yet didn't have many chances to acquaint himself with the crew. It was something he really had to correct. "I figured getting to know the crew better would be something good to keep in mind."

Let's go back to the infirmary? :o apologizer October 26 2009, 07:55:48 UTC
There had been no reason for Kira to visit the infirmary until now, and there were some who might argue it was unnecessary still. With only mild scratches, he was definitely among the lucky ones. Could supplies really be spared? But he'd exhausted his small reserve of healing spells and wasn't the type to let any wound fester.

"Excuse me," he said as he pushed the door open.

\o\ No prob! daddys_bear October 26 2009, 09:25:49 UTC
Back in the infirmary again, Isshin had wasted no time in returning to consulting and looking through his files to update himself on the crew. There were a lot of changes in the recent months, and events had usually made him unable to catch up with them. Now that he had the time - what with the ship currently stuck and under repairs - the man was going to size this chance to catch up what should have been caught up a good while ago.

He was just somewhere on the Ds when the door creaked open, and the man raised his head before grinning when he saw the gunner entering. "Ah, Kira-kun! What brings you to the infirmary at this time?"

Kira startled at the man's enthusiasm. It was only too recently that he'd seen Isshin in the fight against that ghost, so the contrast between that serious, capable fighter and this cheerful healer was even more apparent.

"Doctor Kurosaki." He finally nodded in greeting. "If I might trouble you for some antiseptic..."

It is okay! I know that pain. ;__; daddys_bear November 3 2009, 08:28:19 UTC
Unbeknownst to many, Isshin was actually quite the serious man inside. That seriousness had however been smoothed out after years and years of living and fighting and seeing people dying before his eyes. Unlike other people who spent their later lives lamenting over many things in their youth, the doctor knew better than that - he learned how to move on and how to continue on with his life instead of being weighed down by other (unnecessary) things and made himself gain a positive outlook instead. It was the best way to live on, after the death of his wife all those years ago.

The elder only continued to grin when he heard the question, bookmarking where he stopped and placing the file he had been reading to the side before standing up and responding quite cheerfully. "Certainly! Just give me a moment; I'll go retrieve it." Saying that, he went towards the cabinet that held the general first aid things and started to go through them to find where the cream was placed.
