It had been some time since he'd been called into his Commander's office to have a little chat, and Sync could only thank whatever deity was watching over him for making the confrontation so short. It wasn't like the usual meeting with Edgeworth, and it only reminded him that he had to remain on the latter's good side if he wanted to climb up the ladder for his next promotion.

He'd spent much of his day reviewing maps and logs, reciting everything in his head as he walked around in the empty corridors. The teen had decided to make his way onto the deck, stepping onto the surface while he breathed in whatever fresh air blew into his face.

Sync had been lucky to catch Arietta standing nearby, his expression remaining calm and collected as he made his way over to her.

"Arietta."

Arietta felt herself tense as she heard Sync's voice. This was not the way she normally reacted around him, but after that incident, she was a bit afraid of what he may say to her. She had done something wrong, even if she knew that boy had been trying to feed Sync to the monster. How angry was Sync with her? Did he... did he hate her now?

She couldn't bring herself to look at him after thinking that, so she continued to stare off the ship at the sky. What was he going to say? What was he going to say?

She bit her lip as her eyebrows furrowed more than usual. She couldn't even respond to him.

The first thing that tipped Sync off was the fact that Arietta didn't even respond to him. One would think of the slight possibility that she may have not heard him, but the teen knew that simply would've been an insult to the girl's honed senses if he tried to assume such a thing.

So instead of calling out to her again he took a few steps forward, lifting his hands to rest them on both of her shoulders while he spoke.

"I'm not mad."

Arietta clutched her hands tightly in front of her. She didn't have her doll again today, since people kept giving her funny looks about it. But she could really use the comfort from it right now.

Her shoulders tensed slightly as Sync rested his hands on them, even though it was a gentle touch. But when he told her that he wasn't angry she cast a glance back at him, though her face still carried a worried expression.

"Really?" she asked. She needed him to say it again. She needed confirmation that she hadn't completely ruined everything for him.
