The man sighed at that thought, shaking his head slightly even as he walked. Really, it seemed that no matter where you were one could never really escape from that thing called politics. Everywhere one went, there was always that struggle, that silent battleground of clashing thoughts and passions. It was slightly poetic, but for the most part it was nothing but irony and cruel reality working in tandem.
Still deep in his thoughts, Kristoph didn't notice anyone as he made his way back towards the ship and would possibly be taken by surprise if anyone approached him there and then.

There was a moment of pause as the officer heard the other's question and mulled over it (had he seen any young girls recently? Not really.) for a but before eventually responding. "Apologies, but I haven't. You are searching for her, I take it?"

"Yes. Wandered off by herself, I'm afraid." He was careful not to say too much, but on the other hand, it would be helpful if he could at least garner a clue as to what direction she'd taken.

That would be far too annoying for words.
In any case, he wasn't paying much attention to his surroundings other than to make sure he didn't step in anything disgusting.

Where could she go next? The deck was just full of sweaty seamen, some giving her odd looks at her appearance here, and others ignoring or not seeing her at all.
Perhaps there would be something more interesting below decks.

...what the hell was that? Something-or, rather, someone-had darted across the deck, and it certainly wasn't anyone he recognized. Damned lack of peripheral vision on one side-he turned slightly, but by the time he managed to get the area that had been in his blind spot, it was gone.
He did have a general idea of where it had one, though...

That was that then. Decision made, Mary started heading back up to the deck.

Only when he was on the ship did he slow to a walk, calming his pounding heart. As fine as Erealia was, Phoenix did not want to be stuck there, no sir. A visit was quite enough for him, thanks.

--and suddenly, she wasn't there. "Hey!" he called after her as she went down the stairs to one of the lower decks. "Hey, wait! Where're you going?" he called. It was only a question; it was obvious from his tone that he wasn't trying to throw her out (and certainly didn't have the authority to do so!), he only wanted to know.

Not that it mattered, since von Karma would catch her soon enough.
