For the... okay. He had already lost count of how many times this had happened already, but yet once again the almighty feared so-called Demon Boatswain of the Victoria II was once again finding himself topped... by a kitten. And not just any kitten, but one who could talk and could have most likely given anyone else cavities. Anyone except Hijikata, of course. The man had a way of just ignoring whatever warm fuzzies that were supposed to be meant for him

Did someone say "fail"? /adds to itisntthatwrightSeptember 21 2009, 00:30:34 UTC
Phoenix was hopelessly and utterly lost.
He'd never been to Erealia before, and the town they had landed in was confusing. He'd walked down one street, turned a corner, and not five minutes later had been unable to find his way back.
It was only after about twenty minutes of wandering that he heard a familiar meow. "Chi?" he called, hurrying down the alley he'd been in (didn't Erealians believe in street signs?) and turning a corner. Never had he been gladder to see Chi....and her grumpy boatswain, too, he noted.

"But Chi wants to go NOW!" She called back, turning and sitting on her paws, tail lashing. She gave Rou her very best pout and glare. She learned from the best after all.
But before she could really get going her ears twitched. Was someone saying her name? The cat turned to see... "Spiky-hair man!" She chirped happily, jumping up and running over to Phoenix, rubbing against his leg in greeting.
Very delicious faaaaail~mayoviceSeptember 21 2009, 07:34:58 UTC
Hijikata in turn only glared back at his young non-human change, returning the look with one of his own. Seriously, couldn't the cat try not to be so damned active for once? The only time when she was actually tolerable was when she had been tired out from whatever she was doing. At least when she was exhausted, she was a lot easier to manage - all he really needed to do then was to set her back on her usual sleeping spot (that happened to be his bed).
He opened his mouth, wanting to speak but was then cut short when he heard a voice calling out for the kitten around the corner. Both cat and man raised their head as they watched who was the one who had been calling out to the feline... and Hijikata promptly linefaced when the sight of the spiky-haired man came into view.
There was a moment of silence as Chi scurried over to rub against the other's leg in happiness over seeing him. The boatswain himself looked as unamused as usual as he glanced at the kitten for a few seconds before looking to the other man. "Reporter."
