Characters: Kamotaro Itou, Arthur Kirkland, Roy Mustang

Setting: Arthur's room
Time: Afternoon
Warnings: Misplacing doors.

It's some sort of morbid fascination. )

Right, right. The volcano. Erupting. Arthur brought himself back to that mindset. He leaned forward, resting his arms on his legs, folding his hands. "Yes. I could tell it was him. But he pretended he wasn't. He acted as if he were someone else the entire time." And it was stupid, and childish, and if only Itou would have been there to see it. Then he would have understood.

But, no! The last thing Arthur needed was sympathy. He needed to be told he was stupid for holing himself up because of Alfred.

"Really? It sure didn't look like it."

It was a casual observation, and Roy made sure that his tone carried no real sting to it. The alchemist, however, did want to see how far he could dig before things got truly awkward. He would have normally been willing to play dumb.

Arthur sighed. Roy looked like a cat that had just stolen some cream. Of all the things he could have found out about Arthur, why did it have to be this?

"That's all it was."

Because he is Mustang. ceilingitou August 16 2009, 04:34:00 UTC
Itou wasn't too happy about it, either. He did not like Mustang poking into his business, and he could already foresee the boatswain poking his nose into this matter, too. It was much like having a persistent dog biting at his ankles.

"Don't you have doors to fix, Mustang?" he asked irritably, not even pretending to be nice about it.

"This one included, actually, but people are on it already. So..."

Roy knocked again, perfectly at ease with the situation. The whole setup was starting to amuse him - it was easy for his sort to pick up exactly what had happened just from seeing how the pair was acting, and the fact that he had overheard a good part of their conversation helped immensely.

"Can I come in, or not?"
