I won't tell one soul )
She had rehearsed the scene loosely in her head; Aizen had given her some background information on the man, of course (would he be anything less than thorough?), but she couldn't just reveal her hand of cards to Phoenix. Her assignment consisted on questions regarding the Victoria II, but she puzzled for days over how to work that into a conversation without, well...raising suspicions.
...In the end, she decided she would sound a little strange no matter what she said. And if she went about her questioning the right way, she'd seem less sketchy and more one of those overly eager strangers who meant well and with innocent intentions.
She tilted her head, trying to catch the man's eyes. "Excuse me, sir?" She took a step away from her booth, ignoring the seller who was now watching her warily (like I'd steal something that looked so horrid, don't worry). She clapped her hands together almost gleefully as she stepped closer to Phoenix--but ( ... )

She almost sounded as though she were speaking about a ghost, the way she whispered and over dramatized the words.
"I guess...hmm." Her mouth twisted and she bit on her lip, signifying her discomfort. A pause lingered as she fiercely attempted to give him comforting words. "At least they're experienced? Know what they're doing and all...it'd be awful to have a crew new to everything and bumbling around~" She gave his wrist a slight squeeze, fleeting enough not to scare him, hopefully. "I'd imagine they follow orders pretty quickly. Good at following instruction."

Why was she still holding his hand? Did she just find him interesting? She must find a lot of things interesting, in that case. Phoenix fought back the blush on his face. "Most of the time," he said. "But I don't think they're quite as perfect as Admiral von Karma would like."

"Oh, you need to stop teasing me like this!" She pouted, other hand resting on her hip. "I know you can't tell me everything, but...surely you can tell Cir--me some of the ship gossip and drama, mm?"
She nearly bit her tongue as her name threatened to roll of her tongue. He'd probably ask for her name at this rate, but she was still reluctant to give it for the most part.
"You'll have to forgive me," she said lamely, expression dropping just the slightest. "I guess life's been a little plain for me lately, so..."

But she sighed. Outwardly, it might appear as though she was disappointed by the lack of juicy details, but really Cirucci couldn't figure out much else to ask Phoenix without being terribly redundant. "At least you guys probably aren't out in the air as much, if the crew is as competent as you say. You must get to stop in all sorts of places pretty often! Quick traveling, am I right~?
"And--'young girl'?" The comment made even Cirucci pause, her eyebrow twitching just slightly before she giggled to herself. It wasn't high pitched, or even girly-it was quieter, lower, even. "I'm a woman, you know. Maybe I'm a little younger than you, but I have experience.Cirucci made a thick distinction between those two words: 'girl' and 'woman.' Young girl indicated all that inexperienced, childish innocence of youth. No ' ( ... )

Now, this wasn't in the context of an investigation, so Phoenix didn't really think much of it. It only struck him as an odd reaction. "Sorry," he said, scratching the back of his neck with the hand she wasn't holding. "Yes, we travel around, but mostly around Ivona," he said, changing the subject.

No, any more attempts to get information out of him would just seem strange, at this point: hell, she knew how weird she must be coming off as to him, already. Rolling onto the balls of her feet, she turned a little to the side. "I should probably be going-it's getting late." Despite her words, she let her fingers brush against his for a fleeting moment-just in case the man had anything else to say, any last minute details she could soak up. "I really enjoyed talking with you, especially someone patient enough to entertain a girl like me~"
