Now, really, Ryohei had to wonder about the teamwork of this ship more and more since the chase with those pirates. The gunners were not helpful at all! And now no one really seemed to believe him about the tea and the tea cakes, except Arietta. Though he didn't really like the idea of her helping and possibly being devoured by the yeast monsters he'd made, it seemed the only option he had at the moment ( ... )

"Wait, wait, Ryohei..." Arietta's protests slowly died out as it became clear he wasn't going to listen to her. Though, as she watched, she could see that he was actually plowing through the monster easily. Maybe Ryohei would be able to defeat the tea monster! It was even disappearing! It must have been Ryohei's doing. She, of course, completely ignored the contributions of the people she didn't know well, as if they weren't even there. In her eyes, Ryohei really was amazing.

Then a familiar voice yelled out to her. She turned her head away from the scene to find Sync.

"Sync," she cried, completely overjoyed tot he point of tears now beginning to form in her eyes. Now things would definitely be ok. Sync could save Ryohei and defeat the monster because Sync was great like that. Arietta was sure of it.

Ffamran landed face first in the dough, he was startled by his sudden flight and sucked in a deep breath and was saved from suffocation by the helmet he was wearing. He was going to kill Ryohei when he got out of this --- if he got out of this ( ... )

"Stay where you are!" Sync called back to Arietta, grimacing when he caught sight of the blobs of dough that was still latched onto her uniform. He couldn't believe he was that careless with keeping an eye on her! After this the teen would make sure she never left his sight.

Of course, there were other, more urgent matters he had to attend to. It didn't take a genius to figure out that no food was going to come out of this Kitchen until they got rid of that doughy monstrosity. Yet before he could even contemplate an appropriate action there was something that caught the corner of his eye that made him forget those thoughts altogether.

Rolo. And just like that a small smirk drew up from the corners of his lips, realizing that the latter was too preoccupied with the scene before them. Sync just couldn't pass up a good opportunity like this, and with everyone else busy running around it'd look like an accident ( ... )

Watching the scene unfold before him, Kiros was more than thankful for Sawaki's help in this rather messy situation! At least the yeast was shriveling up a bit now, probably dying now that the green goop he used against it was now fighting it. The mechanic visibly winced when he saw that crazy Ryohei fling the poor navigator right into a face full of the deadly dough monster! It seemed that everything was slowly coming to an end now from his point of view ( ... )

What was even happening? Rolo got the impression that a few people were stuck, and they were dumping all kind of things into the yeast. He figured he should at least try to help drag the people out, since his hand was taken care of. Sighing, Rolo started to roll up his sleeves ( ... )

"Ah, good idea!" Ryohei called when he noticed the freezer was blocked by the dough. He did, however, turn when Adrian called out to him. Blinking surprise at her, the grin returned only seconds later, though sheepish. "I'm extremely sorry, Miss Adrian! I promise I won't! But right now you should stay away from the dough ( ... )

Ffamran watched in shock and horror as Ryohei --- punched the freezer. "What do you think you are doing? Just help me open it!"

He grabbed on to the door handle and started to pull again, aware of the fact that he wasn't strong enough by himself, but - dear god - Ryohei had actually made a large dent in the door.

"Just - help me with this door, not with your fists, we need to get this ice out onto the dough, preferably before we drown the entire ship."

In an effort to maintain her title as "Always Last to Know", Franziska walked blithely toward the galley, hoping to score some coffee before going on shift. She hadn't checked the journals in a couple of hours as she'd been reviewing orders, so naturally she had know idea what she was about to run into.

And then she saw the ooze. It smelled tasty, but whatever it was, it was growing. And apparently it was once again all hands on deck. Except her. Great. She'd be demoted in no time for this.

"What in the names of the Lords of the Seven Hells is going on here?" Franziska began to remove the whip from her belt. She wasn't quite sure how you could effectively whip a gelatanous mass, but she really couldn't think of any better method of problem solving at the moment. Perhaps it could be used to motiviate the others, at least.

Sync grinned devilishly when he managed to 'accidentally' shove Rolo forward, but that was immediately wiped from his face when he felt the latter grab him and pull him down into the dough as well. He didn't have time to curse, his face plunging right into the goo before he pulled himself back out.

Of course that didn't last long when Rolo's grabbed hold of his head before shoving his face right back into the dough. The teen flailed uselessly in the goo, using both hands to grab at his captor's wrist before he used all his strength to push back against Rolo until he broke through the suffocating mess.

"Now's not the time, darling!" Sync hissed at him, knowing too well that they were screwed beyond all explanation if any of their superior officers found them like this. It didn't help that the Admiral was only a few feet away and now his daughter had made her way over to the ruckus as well!

Sync was half tempted with elbowing Rolo in the stomach, but instead he focused on slapping away the hand that was currently shoved in his pocket

It didn't matter that Sync was eventually able to shove Rolo off of him because Rolo didn't find anything. Damnit, maybe it dropped when they fell in... He couldn't believe this!

Rolo was half tempted to punch Sync right in the face, but a familiar voice cutting through the fray made him rethink. Was that... huh, so not only was the Admiral here, but so was his daughter. That was cutting it a little too close, as the disaster of the goo might not have been enough to divert both of their attention.

... On the other hand, she was yelling at the mass of goo...

"..." Rolo tried to look on the floor, but it was hopeless. There was no way they were going to see the floor for awhile, which meant... if Sync did drop his locket... His fist curled up and he grabbed Sync's arm, yanking the both of them up.

"We're not done here," He hissed, keeping a tight grip. Like hell he was letting Sync get away! As soon as the admiral and his daughter was gone, he was going to kill Sync and throw his corpse in the mass of dough. It'd be an accident.

Ignoring the sound of Franziska arriving on the scene, Ryohei frowned at Ffamran. "No, no! Watch! If it's blocked by this extreme dough, we can't get it open without fighting it some more and we'll only get more stuck!"

If there was anything Ryohei knew, it was his fists and how to use them. With that said, he judged the dent of the door again, and aimed at a different spot. He ended up using his other fist for this, as to not get double the damage of his already bloody knuckles of the other hand. Broken knuckles were not something he was interested in, and besides, the strength of that arm was almost used up. So with a second dent made near the hinges, and another fist injured, he nodded.

"This should do it! Yosh, now... pull!" And he did just as he himself ordered, starting to pull at it where it was weak at the dents.

After hearing all that commotion through the communicator, Hijikata couldn't help but wonder just what in the seven hells was going on down there. Something about... a dough monster... well, it wasn't as if he hadn't seen worse, but still... the notion of a dough monster of all things was kind of... wrong, to put it lightly. Then again, it wasn't as if he was perfectly normal himself either, but that was another thing altogether.

So Toshirou exited his quarters after a long moment of pondering, lighted cigarette in between his lips as usual (Hijikata was guessing he'd need loads of smokes for what was happening) as he stalked down the hallways and towards the kitchen, the commotion getting louder and louder as he neared the scene where everything was happening. Once he was there, however... the boatswain quite nearly chocked on his cigarette at what he saw (besides the huge crowd already there).

"What the fuck?!" the dark-haired man spluttered out, eyes wide with surprise and shock at the huge... mass of goo... thing coming from the ( ... )

Ffamran had to admit Ryohei's -- approach -- was effective and he helped give a final tug watching the door buckle off of the hinges enough to climb up out of the dough.

He scanned the freezer and saw trays of ice cubes and several racks of frozen meat, rations for the ship. He started with the ice, throwing trays full out of the freezer not caring if a few of them scattered on the assembled crowd. They needed to get the temperature of the yeast down and into a dormant state as quickly as possible. The water had slowed the tide but ice would have to deal the final blow.

He looked out over the wreckage: dough, a few feet thick in the kitchen, covered in a sheet of cold water and -- dozens, perhaps hundreds of floating ice cubes.

He was now, literally, dripping in dough, and rapidly cooling dough at that. He shivered. That should be enough to keep it at bay. He hoped.

Franziska wasn't sure what to deal with first. There were sounds of water, distressed metal, and significant mayhem coming from the galley proper, and two crewmen that appeared to be fighting each other more than the blob. Now they were standing with one giving a deathgrip on the other's arm.

*CRACK!*

"You two, there will be enough time for flirting later! Get that mess contained, on the double!"

"Like hell we are," Sync spat back when Rolo pulled them both to their feet, using his free hand to wipe off whatever dough clung onto his face. He'd be damned if he let the teen get away with what he'd done, hands curling into fists with every intention of ripping the latter's face off when another voice cut through the air.

And just like that Sync froze in place, slightly more horrified with what was said than with who said it. He quickly looked over his shoulder at his superior officer, replacing his horrified expression with a somewhat serious one, all the while trying to tear his arm away from Rolo's death grip ( ... )
