Hinamori had been temporarily relieved of patrol duty despite her protestations-apparently... of course... she had to have breaks every so often, but she actually felt kind of... well. There was the fact that Toshirou had gone missing-not that it hadn't happened before, but it still... Well.

She supposed she should go to the fair, just to see if there was anything she could see, at least. Maybe she'd find something out! It hadn't been that long ago, so he couldn't have gone far and- ...was that Hang-Meself Dibbles?

She stared for a moment or so, wondering if the nostalgia was worth considerable damage to her stomach lining.

"I guess so," said Hinamori cheerfully. Her expression darkened slightly at the next question, though. Gin was pretty much the detriment to the entire experience.

That and, well, the fact that they'd blown up the president.

"Ah, well, it can be kind of tense, but I like most of the people there. There's... one or two people I really don't get along with, but I think that happens with every job."

"Sure does," Meg sighed. Or, in her case, a lot of people she didn't get along with, starting with her boss. "Anyone I know?" she asked, a playful lilt back in her voice. "I've got a friend or two on the Silvana."

She smiled cheerfully. Of course, she would not be telling Momo exactly who those "friends" were, at least not truthfully. If Meg was caught doing something suspicious, she knew enough to be aware that Aizen would not want to be connected to her in any way.

"Ah, really?" piped up Hinamori cheerfully, completely oblivious. "Well, I don't believe I've met anyone who knows you-well, if I have, they probably just haven't brought you up in conversation."

Or had she just forgotten? Oh dear. Hopefully not. She'd feel pretty awful if she had.

Meg laughed, waving a hand dismissively. Really, her cheerfulness was almost endearing. Almost. After Meg's experiences, she found optimism irritating. "Take it easy there. Who do you know on the Silvana? We'll start from there." Her tone was warm, and the smile on her face was almost genuine.

She needed to know where she stood. Meg could understand why the bastard didn't tell her about his network of connections -- one person knowing the other people who worked for him could jeopardize them all if she talked. But it was still irritating when she didn't know if she was working on someone Sousuke already had under his thumb.

That... really was kind of a broad question, but she'd answer it anyway.

"Well, I kind of know Agrias Oaks, the first mate, and I've met the captain but I don't really know him. Izuru Kira is a friend I know from school, and Sousuke Aizen was one of my tutors. I... sort of... know Gin Ichimaru, and Toushirou Hitsugaya-"

...oh. She paused momentarily.

"Um. Anyway. Do any of those ring a bell?"

"Sousuke. I should have known," Meg murmured, although she was careful to keep any irritation off her face. She sounded for all the world like someone talking fondly about an old friend. Meg knew of Gin, but didn't want to make that connection just yet. Sousuke would just have to do.

She smiled. "Looks like we have a friend in common."

...ah! That was nice, at least, although Hinamori wondered how they were on first-name basis. ...Well, it was unlikely to be anything of that nature. Hopefully.

"Oh, really?" said Hinamori with a smile. "Well, I probably should have expected that! Mr. Aizen's such a great guy that I guess he has friends all over the place!"

Aizen had this girl eating out of the palm of his hand, Meg thought. Hook, line, and sinker. She wouldn't have to do anything at all here.

....she felt an unexpected pang of sympathy, in the depths of her carefully-indifferent soul. Meg was uncomfortably reminded of herself. The girl was even from Kropmork.

She shoved this feeling away. She didn't need to get sentimental over the other links in Aizen's chain of fools. This girl would learn, someday, when Aizen came to collect on her skills. Whatever they were.

"He's really something," she agreed, disguising her true emotions behind a tone of fond awe. She shouldn't give too much away here, no matter how dearly she would have loved to make pointed, sarcastic comments about just how many friends Aizen had all over Reial.

"Yes, he is," said Momo, a little more dreamily than intended. "But, um, anyway yes. Do you know anyone else, or...?"

Meg knew that tone. Hoo boy. Forget the line and sinker, it looked like this Momo had deep-throated the entire fishing rod just to kiss the fisherman’s fingers. Meg tried not to pity the girl. “Well, I don’t know if you could call him a friend, but one of your pilots and I go way back,” she offered. “Kyouya Hibari. Creepy guy, good-looking if that’s your thing, all the emotion of a block of granite?” She shot the descriptions off rapid-fire, a contemplative look in her eyes. It didn’t really matter to her if Momo knew Hibari or not. She was just continuing the conversation.

"Ah... I think I might've seen him around," said Hinamori, tilting her head slightly. "I haven't really talked to him, though. He looks kind of scary."

Meg's laugh was genuine that time, if a little wry. "Well, it's not important." She waved it off. "Well, don't let me hold you up, if you're down here to shop." Warm and slightly teasing, her manner was relaxed and easy. She hoped she didn't see any more of Momo -- the girl reminded her a little too much of herself, which was somebody Meg hated.

"Ah, well..." she sort of was, but she'd liked the conversation too. Still, if Meg had anything to do, she didn't want to hold her up, either.

"Yeah, I think I'm going to go look around a little more. It was nice to meet you!"

"Well, we've got a friend in common." She used the word "friend" in the loosest possible fashion, but kept all rancor out of her voice. "Maybe I'll see you around, Kropmork. Take care," Meg advised, with a small wave of the hand as she turned to go.
