Rhyme wasn't quite sure what to think when everything started to get freaky. People who she knew just stopped what they were doing and started attacking! That was completely no good. She was really worried that there was some sort of spell or something.

She ended up running through the halls, winding up somewhere on the upper decks looking for someone better at magic than her. They had to know if this was a curse or something crazy. Until she knew for sure she was definitely not going to hurt anyone!

She didn't find a better magic user, but she did find a VERY upset Shadow, who was currently running towards her, a frantic look on his face. "Ah! Rhyme!" He hadn't talked to the girl much, but he had seen her once and awhile... mostly when he was looming around Ness' office.

He came to a stop next to her. At the moment they didn't have anyone attacking in this area, but he knew it was just a matter of time. "Are you okay?! What's going on..."

How had a pretty good day gotten so awful, so fast? All she'd been doing was helping backstage, organizing (she was good at it, it was true) when all of a sudden work had stopped and they had weapons, and Sophie had taken off running.

Ending up on the upper decks somehow, Sophie very nearly ran into Rhyme and Ryoji, stopping just in time. She stared at them for a second before blurting out "So I guess you're not pulling weapons on me?"

"Not unless you're pulling 'em on me first," Tank Girl said with a grin as she came up behind her three crewmates. The attack had been a surprise, a big one, which meant that right now, she only had a small handgun strapped to her hip. Still, it was something. "Which ones're we taking out first?"

GROUP 6 - Lucas, L, Vash stampeded March 16 2009, 23:18:34 UTC
Vash had only been a few corridors away from the engine room when the initial attack happened. Suddenly, there were screams, muffled as they were through the halls. He looked both ways, frantic, as he tried to pinpoint the noise - it had to be close, but which way?

He finally started running towards the engine room, as fast as his feet could take him. He didn't draw his gun, not yet, though his hand did start creeping towards it. It could've been just an accident, or - or someone seeing a spider, but Vash was disturbed by this for some reason that he couldn't explain.

It was as he skidded into the engine room that he heard a loud THUMP from the deck above, and the muted, but unmistakable, sound of gunfire.

Oh gosh oh gosh oh gosh oh gosh!

Before he had a chance to know what was going on, Lucas had been attacked by some crew members. No, this had to be a bad dream. And the best thing to do in a dream like this was to... Run. Run very fast.

So, he did, and he ran to where he figured would be a great hiding place. He'd just wait for the dream to go away down here. Yeah, what a good plan. That's what he thought as he sped past Vash and the engine room.

L had been wandering around, slightly hungover, thinking about what he was going to do about Vash and the ship and -- quite a few things. Those thoughts were interrupted by the sound of gunfire coming from the engine room.

Heedless of his own usual self-preservation instinct, he headed towards the noise at a fast clip, looking for anything that could be used as a weapon on the way. Unfortunately, his distraction meant he didn't even notice Lucas barreling towards him.

Now he heard... running? And it was coming towards his location! He had no idea what was going on, but it was too much to be a coincidence. What if there was more than one person wandering around with a gun? The engine room would be a perfect target for anyone that wanted to sabotage the ship!

Instead of finding a better place to stand, Vash hurried over to the door, wrenching it open with every intent of surprising the enemy... except there weren't any enemies there, just a quickly-moving Ryuzaki, and Lucas not too far behind him.

"Wha-?!"

GROUP 3 - Ness, Sora, Aeris, Luffy d_luffymonkey March 16 2009, 23:37:48 UTC
Luffy had been hanging around on the upper decks, trying to perfect his newest Gomu Gomu move when everything had just so suddenly changed. One moment the powder monkey had just been pretty much by himself training with a battered sack stuffed with junk as his punching bag, and the next moment there was a bullet bouncing off his torso.

Needless to say, it was quite fortunate Luffy was made of one hundred percent rubber.

Once he realized he had been attacked, the powder monkey looked in shock as the puppets started to converge around him - the teenager couldn't hurt them, they were part of the crew! So he did the only thing he could; fleeing, running away from the onslaught of bullets with only one question in mind: why? Why were they hurting their own friends and crew? That just made no sense at all ( ... )

It had happened so soon. One minute, Ness was enjoying fresh air on the upper deck, and crew mates all around him were pulling out weapons of all kinds the next. Ness had never seen such a horrifying sight in his life: people he knew and talked with daily were suddenly advancing towards him, smiling and pointing weapons at him.

It was then Luffy happened to land right next to him.

"Luffy!" Ness said. "I...don't tell me you're going to attack me too."

As luck would have it, Sora was taking an afternoon nap in the navigation room when the attack started. Being a heavy sleeper meant that he didn't hear the commotion going on from down the hall, or the sound of the door opening as someone came into the room.

The brunette's head remained pillowed atop his arms where he was resting, oblivious to the danger creeping up behind him.

A very real danger in the form of a scullery maid wielding a butcher's knife.

Like the others Aeris had been caught quite unawares while in her room, and she hadn't been quite so fortunate enough to escape unscathed. A cut to the shoulder from a knife--nothing too deep, and she had been able to heal it so she appeared fine except for a small blood stain on her dress. If it hadn't been for the warning signal the plants in her room had given her, she might have not faired so well ( ... )

GROUP 4 - Roxas, Beat, Hana, Haruhi sunset_summers March 16 2009, 23:47:13 UTC
Roxas had been on his way to the brig when it happened.

Crew members all around him suddenly stopped what they were doing and drew weapons or blunt objects. What the hell!? Did he do something to piss everyone off simultaneously on the ship? And why were they all grinning like that? It was as if they were totally different people altogether.

Afraid, Roxas turned around and ran down the opposite direction, pursued by his crewmates.

"Help!" He cried, hoping someone would hear.

Just as Haruhi nearly stepped on Roxas, Beat came around the corner. His hand was on the hilt of his sword and his face in a half panicked, half tight-lipped expression. He wasn't wearing his hat, and looked like he might have just woken up.

The samurai-in-training skid to a stop, his eyes going wide as he looked back and forth between the two. "Are youse guys normal, yo!?" He yelled, his stance bouncy and wild. He hadn't attacked anyone yet, even though quite a few crewmen had gone berserk, pulling guns and weapons of all sort, but he looked close. REALLY close.

Hanatarou had discovered the puppet invasion when he'd tried to listen to somebody's heart rate and discovered that he didn't have one. And that his torso was made entirely of wood.

Then he pulled a scalpel out of his pocket and tried to kill Hana with it.

Hana panicked and shoved him away, then ran out the door, calling for help. Unfortunately, it seemed that his situation was not unique. He was accosted by several other people with weapons, and one even shot at him. He ran, and kept on running until he was back in his quarters with the door firmly locked ( ... )

Group 5 - Wolf, Milk, Zeetha, Ocelot but_inevitable March 17 2009, 00:59:35 UTC
This was unexpected.

Ocelot had just been minding his own business (for once) when someone who looked vaguely familiar as a member of the Winding Way's crew tried to crack his skull open with a bottle. Ocelot only barely dodged, and mentally cursed himself for being so damned complacent; was this ship really leaving him that rusty? Of course, there wasn't any time to stand around feeling sorry for himself, as the assailant was about to attack again, and he had to figure out some way to disable him without using lethal force.

Which, of course, wouldn't take that long.

"H-hey, stop it ~miru!" Down the hall, Milk was backing into a corner, cursing her true form and looking around for enough space to change back into Kurumi. A few of the supposed crewmembers had surrounded the little thing and were pointing blunt objects at her. "Is this about the rose petals ~miru!?"

"OF COURSE IT'S NOT ABOUT THE ROSE PETALS!" Zeetha roared as she unsheathed her blades, doing a quick 360 degree scan of the situation. Ocelot was engaging someone attacking him with a bottle. Milk was surrounded by crewmen who were watching her with glazed eyes, obviously not in control of themselves. Something was happening, and once again Zeetha cursed her lack of ability to sense magic. Were they enscrolled remotely? Under the effect of a potion? A person? An object ( ... )

Ichigo's been assigned to your group. I hope you don't mind~ flight_15 March 17 2009, 15:10:27 UTC
Ichigo had no clue what was going on, but he sure as hell wasn't going to sit back and take it when he was attacked. No, he was going to fight back. He hadn't been planning to use deadly force--until he'd grabbed one of the things, intending to throw them to the ground, and felt something hard, something solid...something that definitely wasn't flesh. That was why he had a smaller knife out -- there wasn't room to wield the sword slung over his back in the corridor. He turned the corner, and saw Nick, that green-haired woman, and a small ugly furry thing. Looked like the woman was protecting whatever that creepy rabbit was, so Ichigo turned to face the nearest machete-wielding puppet. Bringing his arm back, he stabbed the....thing, whatever it was....in the shoulder with less than a moment's hesitation.

If it didn't bleed, then it wasn't a living member of their crew, and he could kill it without a problem.
