Rhyme wasn't quite sure what to think when everything started to get freaky. People who she knew just stopped what they were doing and started attacking! That was completely no good. She was really worried that there was some sort of spell or something.

She ended up running through the halls, winding up somewhere on the upper decks looking for someone better at magic than her. They had to know if this was a curse or something crazy. Until she knew for sure she was definitely not going to hurt anyone!

She didn't find a better magic user, but she did find a VERY upset Shadow, who was currently running towards her, a frantic look on his face. "Ah! Rhyme!" He hadn't talked to the girl much, but he had seen her once and awhile... mostly when he was looming around Ness' office.

He came to a stop next to her. At the moment they didn't have anyone attacking in this area, but he knew it was just a matter of time. "Are you okay?! What's going on..."

How had a pretty good day gotten so awful, so fast? All she'd been doing was helping backstage, organizing (she was good at it, it was true) when all of a sudden work had stopped and they had weapons, and Sophie had taken off running.

Ending up on the upper decks somehow, Sophie very nearly ran into Rhyme and Ryoji, stopping just in time. She stared at them for a second before blurting out "So I guess you're not pulling weapons on me?"

"Not unless you're pulling 'em on me first," Tank Girl said with a grin as she came up behind her three crewmates. The attack had been a surprise, a big one, which meant that right now, she only had a small handgun strapped to her hip. Still, it was something. "Which ones're we taking out first?"

Suddenly she had a pile of people. That was a little freaky. Well, she wasn't going to look a gift horse in the mouth, especially if the horse wasn't shooting at her.

"I'm fine. I just don't know what's going on!" Sophie, Ryoji and Tank Girl ... that wasn't too bad, especially since Tank Girl probably had guns somewhere on her. "I'm really worried about everyone. What if they're under a spell and can't help it? We can't hurt them."

She knew they could probably take out several people with the group they had now but she still didn't know the people were puppets so she was worried they were real people.

It was about that time that Ryoji realized he was in a group made up of himself, and three cute ladies (though Tank Girl was more scary-hot then cute, and Rhyme was kinda illegal). His panicked look melted into a coy grin, though his tone was still rather serious.

"Rhyme is right... we can't attack unless there's no other choice... these are our crewmates after all." the strategist pondered for a moment. "First things first, we have to find someplace he can defend, so there's less of a chance that we'll end up fighting for our lives..." he trailed off, his eyes glinting. "I'd hate to have to choose between myself and a friend after all."

Tank Girl, whom Sophie had only encountered over the network thus far, caused a secod of scrutiny from Sophie, until she noticed the gun, which was good. At least the group had at least one weapon a little more physical than magic, in casethey really, really needed it.

But Sophie didn't have anything with which to defend herself outside of a tiny pair of sewing scissors in her pocket. She might be able to give someone a nasty scratch, but that was about it. Of all the times to not be near her frying pan...Right, an easily defensible place, that would be good. "I don't know, what's near?" She asked the others, ignoring Ryoji's odd grin. "If we find some place close, and block it up, we should be safe...right? No fighting involved!" She hoped.

"Yeah, I'd hate to throw a friend to the wolves, too," Tank Girl replied to Ryoji with a wide grin. "Not gonna pull the gun just yet. Gotta wait to make sure that they're really coming at us, right?" She looked Rhyme and Sophie up and down in dismay as the rest of their little group turned around and scrambled to find a place where everyone else comuld secure themselves, and from which she could pick off the attackers with minimal harm to herself. Why didn't they have any weapons? She and Zeetha would have to fix that.

Tank Girl herself, in the meantime, strode nonchalantly up to one of the attackers who just had a belaying pin. It was one of the male members of the crew that she hadn't met yet, and she wasted no time in grabbing him by the shoulders and delivering a swift knee to the groin. That usually worked. When her knee connected, however, there was nothing there to hurt. "He's got nothin' between his legs!" she shouted, startled by the glassy stare remaining exactly the same. There was no way in hell that that wouldn ( ... )

Rhyme screamed in horror at Tank Girl's actions. Maybe he just didn't have ... alright ... well the crewman's head exploded into a puff of wood splinters, flesh colored putty and gear-things. That didn't make what Tank Girl had done any better but at least they knew the crew members weren't real now.

"Ri-right! Let's ... well the medical bay is only two floors down and the door is sturdy!" That being said she headed in that direction. She wasn't sure about hiding though. People could get hurt. "But we have to help people!"

It was shortly afterward that another member of the crew rounded the corner and ran towards them, an older man by the name of Ryan that was one of the assistant mechanics. At the moment, he was rather occupied with running from two pursuing puppets, both of which were wielding huge wrenches and had malicious smiles on their otherwise dead faces.

"Oh, thank the heavens!" he shouted when he saw the group, not slowing down much as he approached them. "Could you spare a weapon?!"

Ryoji chewed his lip worriedly. So these things weren't real. THAT was good. But Rhyme was right, they couldn't abandon the crew.

"Well, if we can secure the medical bay, we can scout out and bring the wounded back there!" He chirped, only to be distracted by the man turning the corner.

"Whoa, sir!" Even though he knew some of the crew were now wooden and crazy, the man wasn't attacking, so it never occurred to him that this might not be wise. Instead he jogged over to see if he needed help.

Sophie had the presence of mind (and not nearly enough time to react) to not scream when the shot rang out. But it seemed that it didn't matter. "Th-they're wooden?"

If they were wooden, it didn't matter what was done to them, right? That made things a lot easier. Good. "So we don't have to worry about hurting them!" She concluded, this heartening her.

She didn't respond to the man, though she did instinctively raise her hands to deflect anything, though it wouldn't do her much good against the two pursuing puppets.

Finally, Rhyme realized they could actually kick some butt of whatever these things were. Rhyme also didn't think much of the approaching assistant mechanic. He needed help and Rhyme was going to help him!

"Come on, Ryan! We're gonna secure the medical bay." She jogged over after Ryoji and grabbed Ryan by the wrist. She wondered if she could manage a fire spell while they were running away. She should probably save her energy for healing, though. Those wooden monsters could be anyone and a lot of people were likely to get hurt by people they thought were friends.

[ooc: Molly is out until Saturday, so hopefully we will only go a cycle or so, but we'll keep tagging anyway!]

Ryan seemed very glad to have the backup, not to mention relieved. "You're saints, all of you!" he declared, gladly hurrying along with them in the direction of the infirmary. With his spare hand, he took a handkerchief out of his pocket, which he wiped his face with. "Let's step it up a bit, shall we?"

Those puppets, now running after the entire group, seemed to be too weighed down to quite match their pace. They were undaunted by this, though, and continued to pursue them tirelessly.

Ryoji nodded at Ryan, then let him and Rhyme ahead, himself guarding the back as they ran down the halls and past doors. More yells of people under attack hit his ears, and sounds of chaos setting him on edge.

"Wow... the level of magic to do something like this..." he didn't finish the thought, as soon the infirmary was in sight. "Hurry! Inside... if nothing else there will be things we can fight with there..."

sorry guys, plz to excuse my fail? madhattersophie March 23 2009, 07:01:46 UTC
Sophie turned and kept pace with the others easily, thinking ahead to the infirmary already. He specialty in fighting (though less of a 'specialty' and more of 'technique she didn't complete suck at' was hitting things, hard as she could. Which, of course, required a sturdy object, especially for these things.

Suddenly a thought hit her and, before she could stop herself, she'd voiced it. "What if there are puppets in the infirmary?" Would Tank Girl's gun be able to take care of them?
