After publicity showing his disgust for the outlandish news today, a rather irritated strategist walked into the first mate's cabin after a light knock upon the door. Cao was silent in his approach, giving Edgeworth a slight nod before he sat across from him in a nearby chair. It was obvious to tell that today's verdict did not sit well with him. Despite being devoid of any sour expression upon his face, his eyes clearly shown his disdain for today's grand headlines.

"Sir." Cao offered Edgeworth a polite smile.

Unlike the other two officers, Delita felt only a mild distaste and a lack of surprise at the news that the 4423 was going free. It was the way of the world, it seemed. One of the many things that would be changed... soon.

He strolled in, a small smile on his face. A nodded was given to both men before he too sat. Getting the card with the flower on it had been... interesting, and he was eager to hear Edgeworth and Cao's thoughts.

Greta hadn't been at all surprised when Edgeworth had requested she cater for his meeting. She was a cabin girl- it was her duty to do errands for the officers. What she had been surprised about was that she was the one that he'd chosen. Wasn't there another cabin boy or girl? Technically that person would be her senior. She was sure that the more important errands like this one would be handed to that person. So she'd been very honored when he had asked her.

Of course, she hadn't gotten the chance to meet Chi, and therefore could not know that the other cabin girl was a little kitten.

She came promptly, holding the silver serving tray that she was already so fond of using. The tea things were all arranged neatly on its surface, the faint smell of chamomile wafting from the pot. After (much) practice, she was able to hold the tray with one hand, leaving the other to be used for other purposes. It was with that free hand now that she knocked lightly on Edgeworth's cabin door.

"Mr. Edgeworth, sir," she chirped.

The dark look in Edgeworth's eyes faded, and Edgeworth forced himself to offer a polite smile towards his guests. His anger still remained, but he managed to push it back into the recesses of his mind. It would do no good to get riled up now; the night was still young, after all.

"Good evening, gentlemen," he announced. "Please, take a seat. We should have -"

He found himself interrupted by a short knock against the door. Speak of the devil, the cabin girl was here. Edgeworth cleared his throat, and said, "Come in, Greta."

Cao barely regarded the other officer who walked into the office, his own thoughts seeming to be more interesting than the environment around him. Today's meeting would surely be an interesting one if the strategist actually allowed his opinions to be voiced. For now, he offered only silence towards the two men with a faint but noticeable smile.

Glancing over at the cabin girl once she entered, Cao chuckled lightly as he remembered the time he first met this darling little girl. "Perfect! I am assuming this meeting has begun now that the tea has arrived." He stated towards his two colleagues.

Delita tilted his head up, taking in the smells of the hot drinks, a light smile crossing his face. Ahh... that would be wonderful. Something calming to the frazzled nerves he could sense in the air. It would make sense that Mengde and Edgeworth would be rather upset considering recent news. He too wasn't very happy, but he had expected somekind of turnabout.

He turned the smile towards the girl, then back to Edgeworth, slipping a hand in his jacket and bringing out the card, holding it between two fingers. "An interesting choice of invitation Commander. These days too many forget the other purposes of this season."
