Instead he said in a slightly sour tone, "They did, but everyone I knew had a lot more to worry about than...this." He waved a hand at nothing in particular, eyes narrowing suspiciously. Well, she wasn't his first choice (no one was, actually) but maybe she could at least give a straight answer to the question. "So what is it?"

[Hey, let me know if this is okay--otherwise you can kick me out, I don't mind |D]

He bounded over to where Shido stood, probably unaware of just how much his high energy level wasn't going to help. "Oh, probably just some holiday created by the candy companies to con more money out of clueless, sappy people." He leaned against the railing facing Shido. "Although that doesn't mean I'm not going to take advantage of the mood it seems to put everyone in, especially that of a certain lady."

"Certain lady?" he repeated, dubious. He didn't get out much, nor did he listen to the ship's gossip although he supposed that Wolf did tend to gravitate about that one girl...

Suddenly his energy level seemed to drop slightly, his demeanor calming and his voice was noticeably quieter. "It's uh... also a time of year that many choose to propose marriage to their sweetheart." Wolf turned to gaze out over the cityscape of Kropmork, smiling lightheartedly to himself.

Wolf's admittance, however, made him blink. While marriage wasn't exactly a familiar concept, his clan had once had its own courtship rituals and bonding ceremonies. He assumed it was a simmilar principal.
"Do you think she'll say yes?" He wasn't quite sure what prompted him to ask, excapt maybe distant curiosity. After all, Wolf was in some ways more animal than human much like Shido himself. He was surprised that the man had found someone he was so devoted to that he apparently wanted to mate for life.

Needless to say when she spotted Shido, she began to approach him with a bounce in her step and a grin on her face. Never a bad thing to meet another one of her members, and he seemed to be rather irritated by something and so it was her vow now to do what she could to at least lessen that irritation.
"Hello there! Don't believe we've met." she said cheerily, sliding next to him.

"No," he agreed, scrutinising her more thoroughly. Most of the work he did around the ship, he did on his own, and specifically picked his meal times for when the kitchen would be mostly empty. He didn't exactly go out of his way to socialise with the crew. Still, for the moment he was cornered, and even though he wasn't sure he wanted to encourage her her piercing gaze prompted him to at least offer his name. "Shido Fuyuki. You?"

Shido's discomfort didn't escape her, she was more perceptive than people seemed to give her credit for, but she did not let that deter her. In fact it made her eyes crinkle in slight mirth, it reminded her a little bit of Neku. Coming from Kropmork she was a little more than slightly accustomed to the loners.
"You've been here a while?"

“A couple of months, I guess. Since before the bombings.” Shido wasn't all that good with dates or time, but something like that was hard to forget. “It's a nicer place to work than some.”
He'd never willingly admit he might have gotten a little attached to the place. If pressed he'd say it was only because the crew needed a few more sane members to balance out the eccentric ones.
