The first set of veranda doors slide open easily, allowing entrance into short portion of the hallway. Further in is a large opening that presumably looks down onto the grand entrance way. To the left is a continuation of the hallway, dark and silent, and lined with a few doors that continue along the house' natural shape. It seems as good a place as any to start.

Though Uni knew nothing of self-defense, she had not been lying -- not exactly -- when she had told the Captain she could take care of herself. She doubted he would understand, but there was something Uni knew with a certainty so unshakable she had rebuilt her world on it:

Byakuran was her weapon and her shield, and he would let nothing touch her.

She followed his movements, saying nothing but observing every detail of the place through calm blue eyes, impressing its layout in her mind. It was not too difficult to keep her steps quiet as she trailed behind Byakuran, close enough to be within easy reach but not too close as to impede his movement. Uni was a creature remade in silence. She had learned to inhabit darkness with the same grace other noblewomen displayed in inhabiting their mansions -- and this house was full of shadows.

Domino had signed up for this little excursion for two reasons. Firstly, because she wanted her cut when the pay came in, and secondly (and more importantly) because she wanted to see how this crew operated in the field. She was new to the ship and hadn't yet had much of a chance to acquaint herself with her crewmates yet. Possibly a risky thing, trusting her back to people she didn't know, but Dom was confident enough that whatever happened, she could save her own ass, so she wasn't too worried.

The only acknowledgment she made to Byakuran's comment was a quick nod. The inside of the mansion was vaguely creepy, though she couldn't say why, and she kept an alert eye out on her surrounding as she followed her two companions. From the sounds of things, this was supposed to be a simple, quiet job. Hopefully, it would stay that way.

Except for the quiet sounds of the first group walking off, the house is immensely silent. Unsurprising for an empty mansion. There are a few passing footsteps that echo up from the grand hall, which are almost certainly from the rest of the crew. Off to the right extends a deeper hallway that leads to a more private part of the house - chances are, there'll be something down there.

Souji had never played the roll of a thief before, but the idea didn't bother him too much. True, he considered himself a good person... but this was his job now, and he planned to do his best by it. The helmsman stood off to the side of the group, looking around slowly, his glasses on his nose and one hand on his hip. The house was very nice, but also large. It would take time to find the mana stone.

"Do any of us have magic talent?" He asked, looking back at his teammates."

Yuri padded softly around the general area, looking for any obvious, well, anythings. Repede - and man had it been a chore getting him up to the second floor - sniffed about as unobtrusively as he could in the areas Yuri couldn't get to.

He looked up when Souji spoke, and shrugged. "Nah, not me." Or well, he could use a mana crystal well enough, but smashing and hacking wouldn't do a lot of good in this sort of mission.

Shion's eyes swiftly scanned the area, intently analyzing every aspect. Tentatively moving about, she was careful to keep her footsteps as muted as possible. Swallowing a lump that had suddenly formed within her throat, she surreptitiously chanced a glance at the helmsman, and then Yuri, the latter causing her right hand curl into a tight fist that laid securely against her chest. She could feel her heart beating rapidly, and she willed her breathing to slow, lest the captain notice her uneasiness. Then again, her nervousness could very well pass for jitteriness due to their task ( ... )
