MEDICAL WARD / INFIRMARY daddys_bear February 4 2009, 01:50:04 UTC
At the medical ward, the place had the beginning signs of the chaos that was to come as Isshin hurried around the room, getting out the needed medical equipment along with spares and extras if they were to be needed soon enough. There were already a few crew members that had been ushered in here earlier right after the immediate aftermath of the attack, and it was obvious that the patient flow wasn't going to get any better soon enough.

The patient flow had indeed not been the best, and it was pretty obvious from the disheveled look on Isshin that he had been more or less pretty caught up in the recent admission of crew members that had gotten themselves injured in the attack. Wearing his coat and a clipboard in hand, it was clear that the usually spazzy and lackluster man was now in full business mode. This was no time to crack jokes and cause unneeded trouble, not when there were so many injured to take charge of. Ryuuken and Yuuko had done a great job in ensuring the health and safety of the ones that had been brought in here, and Isshin wasn't going to let that professionalism down anytime soon ( ... )

Armed with a bag full of medical supplies, Ryuuken wasted no time in reaching the injured part of the ship. The man was eerily calm; like the eye of a hurricane, the pandemonium blew around him without affecting his demeanor at all. He took in the damage to both the hull and the crew unfortunate enough to be near it: with a practiced eye, he noted whose injuries were minor, which were life-threatening, and which were beyond help. It was a difficult decision, but one that every doctor who did field work had to make ( ... )

The damage wrought upon the Silvana was not exactly minimal, and it certainly could have been much worse, despite how many casualties it brought along with the gaping hole in the side of the ship. Yuuko had left Isshin in charge of the infirmary in favor of treating those out in the war zone, acknowledging his full capability of handling it all on his own. It was near-chaos down here, she noted, stepping over slumped bodies, once in a while halting to close their eyes. Even if they died, at least they could have the dignity of leaving this world with their eyes closed.

Medical supplies in hand, the enchantress tended to whom she could, providing comfort where Ryuuken could not. Amidst the sea of bandages and the stench of blood, Yuuko was strangely calm. She wasn't one to freak out over such matters, however quickly she moved. To avoid dirtying her long tresses, she pinned it all back into a high ponytail, then proceeded picked up her bag and continue down the corridor.

"Oh, come on!" Yelled the blond woman as she continued to drag the chef down the hallway with her, still one-hundred percent adamant about dropping Aragaki off at the infirmary. Despite his grumbling protests, Rangiku knew it was for his best interest to see one of the three doctors aboard this ship about his knee. The chef hurt himself pretty badly earlier when he ran off to help the gunners. Even though his bravery nearly cost him his life, Shinjiro was still proud of his actions and more than willing to ignore any medical attention if it means for him to avoid a certain black-haired enchantress.

Nearly slipping once, she managed to haul him half way down the corridor, a look of surprise settled on Rangiku’s face once she noticed the healer nearby. “Ichihara!” She shouted over towards the woman, more than glad to see her.

“Aragaki got hurt pretty badly, his knee…” The blond trailed off as she settled the moody chef upon the floor so he could lean against the wall as he sat.

“I think he really over did it, Yuuko."

Shinjiro didn't argue when Ragiku placed him on the floor, and his glare didn't hold as much fire as it usually did. The adrenaline was flushing from his body, leaving him weak, tired, and in growing pain.

"...I'm...fine...damnit." He spat out.

Hearing Rangiku's distress call, the woman made her way over to the blonde, kneeling down gracefully, almost patiently, at Shinjiro's side. The poor boy looked absolutely terrible and ready to collapse at any moment, and it was a wonder how he hadn't passed out from sheer exhaustion already. Apparently he required some more credit. "This stubborn pride of yours will become very wearying very soon, Aragaki," she chided, gingerly placing her fingertips at the base the wounded knee for an inspection. The kneecap was swollen and looked tender to the touch, but something caught her interest.

Without glancing up, she addressed Rangiku. "Was his knee popped back into place?"
