MEDICAL WARD / INFIRMARY daddys_bear February 4 2009, 01:50:04 UTC
At the medical ward, the place had the beginning signs of the chaos that was to come as Isshin hurried around the room, getting out the needed medical equipment along with spares and extras if they were to be needed soon enough. There were already a few crew members that had been ushered in here earlier right after the immediate aftermath of the attack, and it was obvious that the patient flow wasn't going to get any better soon enough.

The patient flow had indeed not been the best, and it was pretty obvious from the disheveled look on Isshin that he had been more or less pretty caught up in the recent admission of crew members that had gotten themselves injured in the attack. Wearing his coat and a clipboard in hand, it was clear that the usually spazzy and lackluster man was now in full business mode. This was no time to crack jokes and cause unneeded trouble, not when there were so many injured to take charge of. Ryuuken and Yuuko had done a great job in ensuring the health and safety of the ones that had been brought in here, and Isshin wasn't going to let that professionalism down anytime soon ( ... )

His brows furrowed when he looked at how not okay the boatswain was, the usual sharp and bright demeanor of the younger man not there at all - and that was by itself already worrying. Obviously judging from the way the blood tracks were on his face and the amount of blood on the man's hand, he must have had the injury for a rather long time already. That wasn't good. Losing too much blood was never good.

Quickly Isshin moved to grab a spare bit of cloth and wrapped it, pressing it against the younger man's head as he spoke. "You're not fine at all, Apollo-san," he spoke in a voice of calm seriousness, keeping the professionalism in his tone. "You've been having this injury for quite awhile already, correct? I'll have to patch it up before you faint from excessive blood loss." He squeezed the shoulder that his hand was on and without a word, started to guide the boatswain towards the medical ward.

"Coffee isn't going to do well for you, Apollo-san," Isshin responded as he busied himself through the drawers in finding some bandages, gauze and tape to hold the bandage. "And at the rate you're bleeding, you are going to faint sooner or later," he paused when he managed to dig out the bandages and tape and everything he needed to treat the boatswain's injury and went back to Apollo, placing the materials on the table beside where the younger man was sitting. "and that will only do more harm than good for anyone around here ( ... )

Frog guts? Now that was a sight worth remembering, Isshin mused to himself as he contiuned to apply the healing slave over the cut on Apollo's forehead. Of course, frog guts sure as hell didn't compare to seeing dead rotten corpses or beheaded bodies, humans and animals alike. Vohemar (and the Badlands) weren't so kind to their human inhabitants as Ivona was, after all. The man held the back of the chair when the boatswain pulled back with a hiss, ensuring that his patient wasn't going to topple over anytime soon as he ensured that the slave was applied properly (but just barely enough) to the flesh wound ( ... )

At first he grimaced slightly at the younger man's reaction, but then Isshin only smiled gently in return to that comment, pausing in his work as he reassured the boatswain. "Its alright, Apollo-san. Everyone's health is equally important, and yours isn't anything too serious, fortunately." He paused as he finished applying the last of the antiseptic onto the cut before pressing down on one end with a finger and let a brief bolt of magic dry the cream with a soft hiss so that he could quickly move on to apply the next thing ( ... )

Isshin made a move to catch Apollo should he fall when the younger man swayed around like that when he stood up, though he stopped when the boatswain managed to get a hold onto the chair to ensure that he was upright. At the man's remark, the doctor couldn't help but let out an amused sort of chuckle ( ... )

The doctor only smiled slightly at that comment, somewhat amused by the younger man's eagerness to quickly get back to work. Isshin made a little start at the boatswain's bloodied hand, having completely forgotten about the stains there and quickly made off to grab another piece of damp cloth and taking one of Apollo's hands, started to wipe off the dried blood there as he responded to the inquiry ( ... )
