Content: Anthy passes out in a park in a burst of magic. Magical things happen, a girl needs rescuing.
Setting: Colvus

It was dark.

It had been dark, Utena thought, for a very long time. Since the million swords had turned on her--no, maybe before then. The first sword, with such familiar hands holding it... That had hurt the most. But the pain was gone now, and there was only black.

At least, she thought, though her thoughts moved slowly, thickly, reluctantly...at least Anthy wasn't here. She slipped away, at the last moment... but did she escape, after all? Utena hoped so. She really, really did.

Hoping, though, wasn't going to help her friend. Princes didn't just sit around and hope. Nobody got rescued that way.

So she wandered, in the darkness. She didn't know if she really moved, because nothing changed, but she wouldn't give up. Not ever ( ... )

Teasing the farthest corner of one man's vision with a searing rise of light, the brilliance of Anthy's disappearance did not go entirely unnoticed. His own path had been one not far from the park, and much less pulled by the strings of the magic overflowing from the world around him on this, a night filled to bursting with links to the ethereal. He had only been guided by the urge to step away from the ship and take the crisp evening air into his lungs and cool down, and while standing on the corner of a street nearby, Anthy's release of power, looking like the death of a star, erupted into his perepheral vision and swept his attention towards it immediately.

"...was that?" he softly said aloud. Instantly, with concern showing in his features, he wondered if he should check to see if anyone had been harmed by the light, either by what had produced it, or whatever might emerge from it.

He sighed softly, and then, with a look of visible reluctance, clentched his jaw and stared down at the sidewalk. Is this really something I should ( ... )
