"I see you are awake," crooned a feminine voice from somewhere in the room. Over by the sink, a tall woman stood with her back toward the light-haired boy, and then pivoted on one heel, a glass in hand. There was a clear liquid inside. "You have been falling in and out of consciousness for the last little while." Now significantly closer, Yuuko gently set one cool hand against Toshirou's forehead, and then brushed a few wisps of silver away.

"Drink this." She gave him a faint smile. "I promise it's only water."

Toshirou glanced up at the voice, lifting his head off the pillow to stare at the tall woman. He eyed the glass uncertainly and jerked his head back away from her hand. The young man had no idea who she was, and certainly didn't want her touching him.

"Why should I?" He asked in a voice rusty from disuse as he glared up at the woman.

After their brief conversation earlier, Rangiku rushed down the halls of the Silvana in search for the infirmary. She knew that Hitsugaya didn't want to talk to her anymore but he honestly doesn't have a choice the matter. Something is wrong with him and the blond wasn't about to let him wander off the ship without giving her a suitable answer.

"Taichou is acting really strange..." Rangiku muttered to herself as she entered the infirmary. "…almost like a completely different person." She sighed as she peeked inside, looking around for that familiar fluff of snow-white hair.

“Oh, there he is.” Just when the blond was about to approach towards his bed, she stopped once she noticed a black haired woman speaking with him. Maybe the other woman is some kind of a doctor or healer...

"Hm." Rangiku stood back and watched them both for moment, unsure if she should interrupt.

One slender eyebrow arched upward. "If you're thinking that I'm planning to poison an already wounded person laying in an infirmary bed, you sadly have poor taste in judgement." Her lips set into a line. "I could have dug my fingers into your knife wound instead of stitching it up if I intended to cause you further pain." Once again, Yuuko held out the glass.

"Excessive dehydration will lead you to fainting, and later death, if you don't properly hydrate on a regular basis. Would you like to risk that?"

Sensing Matsumoto's presence, she smiled inwardly, but didn't turn to face the blonde.

The Dog was quite well aware that a pretty dim view tended to be taken of animals wandering in and out of human medical facilities, but she had never particularly cared what anyone else thought of what she did. It was not entirely surprising, therefore, to see her nudging the infirmary door open with her nose and padding inside.

She made a - slightly limping - beeline for the bed Toshirou was curled up in. The boy didn't seem to want company, and, for that matter, seemed to be too absorbed in staring at his difference engine to notice her quiet approach.

Well, there were tactful ways of drawing attention to oneself. But tact was a courtesy to be extended to those worthy of it, and the Dog wasn't feeling merciful. As such, Toshirou was getting the sort of greeting that was far more enjoyable for the Dog than the recipient - that is to say, copious amounts of slobber across the first available bit of skin.

Toshirou had been staring at his journal lost in thought when something warm and wet hit him in the face. It wasn't bad enough that it startled him to the point of almost falling out of the small bed, but then the smell hit him. Wiping at his face, spluttering and gagging he glared at the person responsible for waking him in such a way. Emerald eyes widened as he found himself face to snout with the Dog.

He flushed, remembering the fight from the other day and what he'd done to the Dog. Toshirou felt bad for hurting everybody, and causing so many problems. A part of him still wished one of them had found a better way to stop him permanently then leaving him broken like he was.

"Did you come to bite me or something?" Toshirou asked a little warily.

"Of course not," the Dog answered, pulling her nose back out of Toshirou's face and dropping down into a sitting position on the floor by the bed. "I did enough of that already, I'm not going to do it again unless you give me good reason."

Her tone, while not exactly threatening, wasn't entirely friendly either, making clear that if he did give her reason, she wouldn't hesitate to hurt him.

"I came to see how you were."

"Sorry to disappoint you." Toshirou said with a little snarl that lost it's effect from wiping the dog slobber of his face. "But I can't hurt anyone anymore." At least not anytime soon, but there was no point in telling her that. He really didn't feel like getting bit again.

Toshirou eyed the Dog warily. "I'll live, but I have to ask why you even care if I'm okay or not"

Surprisingly, Heihachi was not Toshirou's first waking visitor. He'd stayed with the boy for a while when he'd first been brought to the infirmary just in case he'd woken up during the treatment and someone was needed for damage control against Toshirou's phobia of Doctors, but in the end he hadn't been needed and there'd been too much work that needed doing. Fixing the ship from his friend's damage was the best and only apology he could think to offer, although it couldn't really lessen the crime, but Heihachi hoped the Captain of the Silvana wouldn't judge Toshirou too harshly.

The mechanic tried to be quiet about re-entering the small recovery room in case Toshirou was still asleep, but while the stillness threw off his senses for a moment, green eyes were wide open and staring blankly at the ceiling.

"You're awake," he observed, although his bright tone was somewhat muted by the oppressive silence. He wasn't sure if it was the sick room or Toshirou himself that was causing that.

Toshirou cringed at the sound of Heihachi's voice. The mechanic was the other person he was rather reluctant to talk to. All he did was hurt his friend, and now that he thought about it, it might be best for everyone if he was left alone.

"I'm awake." He said and just lay there on the bed, not moving staring at the ceiling.

So the heavy feeling was Toshirou's doing. The cringing wasn't a good sign either, and Heihachi was forced to conclude from the dullness in his tone that Jushirou hadn't come to see him yet.

"I'm glad," he said simply, pouring warmth into his tone as he came to sit down on the chair beside the bed. "How's your shoulder?"

The young man didn't look at his friend as he sat down in the chair beside his bed. "I'll live." He replied in a dead voice. Not knowing what to say to Heihachi, he just continued to stare at the ceiling almost afraid to meet the older man's eyes.

Toshirou knew he'd be able to take it better if Heihachi would just be angry with him. Instead here he was asking him how he was. Toshirou heaved a sigh, wanting to hide.

Shinjiro had slipped into the room late in the day, practically the evening, closing the door after him only once he was sure that any other visitors had already left. The cook said nothing, simply pulling up a chair and taking a seat, resting his chin in his hands and staring at Toshirou.

He himself didn't look very well off. Gin had appeared with the drug yet, and withdrawl was heavy on his body and mind. Dark rings circled his eyes, and tiny tremors shook his hands. Nothing at all like the last time they had talked at that big lunch.

"...."

Toshirou heard the door open and close and then the sound of a chair scraping across the floor as someone sat down in it. After several minutes of silence, the young man sighed and rolled over getting annoyed that whoever it was hadn't said anything yet. Groaning as the movement sent spikes of pain through his body, Toshirou blinked in confusion when he saw who it was.

"Shingjiro?" Why was the cook here? He hadn't expected Aragaki to set foot in here, as far as Toshirou knew he hadn't hurt the cook in his little freakout the other day. Eyeing the taller man, Toshirou noticed the way Shinjiro's hands were shaking and the dark bruises under his eyes. "You look like shit." He said forgetting momentarily that he wasn't one to talk, being covered in bandages as he was.

"Heh. Take a look in the mirror lately?" Shinjiro replied with a light snort. He KNEW he looked like shit, but what could you do?

But pleasantries aside, he DID have a reason to be here. He and Toshirou's... relationship? (No not unless you counted yelling matches a relationship, but they DID know each other) was an odd one already. But it wasn't nearly close enough for him to visit the other young man. No...

"We need to talk. What happened up there? And don't bullshit me, or I'll just ask around. Neither of us want that."

Toshirou sighed. Seemed like everyone and their dog wanted to talk to him, in fact a dog had come to talk with him earlier, which in itself was a little odd but he dealt with it.

"Haven't you read the journals?" Toshirou shot back. "I'm sure you won't have trouble finding the answers your looking for there." He just really didn't want to talk about it.

"Why do you want to talk? I'm not exactly in any condition to raid the kitchen so you can rest easy for now."
