It was simply quite easy to say that Luffy was very, very excited - fancy this, a treasure hunt just like what real pirates would do! It was yet another step closer in fulfilling his dreams - his dream to be the bestest pirate in the whole of Reial. And now what better way than to look for real treasure

Luffy's eyes widened as well as the other L suddenly seemed to disappear all of a sudden and... there was another Ichigo! The powder monkey leaned forward as much as humanly possibly, eyes almost budging out of their sockets as he looked at the two Ichigos in surprise. "Ichigo, there's two of you now!" he remarked on the obvious as he rubbed his eyes to see if he was having problem with his vision or not. A pause as he looked at the doubles again and then...

"Awesome!" the boy exclaimed after L spoke as he pumped a fist and grinned. "Two Ichigos will work a lot better than one now, heee!"

"Like hell!! I wanna know who the impostor is!" Ichigo growled. ....wait... "Okay. Either that other guy who was with us disappeared and we need to go after him, or it's him and he's pulling some kind of stupid stunt. Now's not the time for - " He would have continued to rant, but he heard a screech behind him, and what sounded like a thump, thump, thump sound, getting steadily louder. ....that doesn't sound good....

His sword was out of its bindings in a moment, and held out in front of him as he faced the direction of the noises. Footsteps, he was willing to bet, and whatever it was sounded pretty damn big.

L drew out his machete, whatever was coming towards them he wanted to make sure the little team was ready.

"Oingo, we will be having a discussion about the time and place for such hijinx, however, we must make ourselves prepared now."

It was only a few moments later when a large, green, two-legged beast came crashing through the trees. It was perhaps two or three feet taller than him and didn't look particularly happy to be there.

It let out an incredible roar and charged straight towards the team.

Oingo, of course, realized the seriousness of the situation. Reverting back to his normal form, he took a more serious, if somewhat arrogant look. This one looked like a real terror, but if living in the Badlands had taught him anything, it was that monsters were surprisingly easy to trick.

"Oi, you ugly green mutant, you want somethin' ta eat?" Oingo taunted, running up to and past the creature with surprising speed. As he did so, he removed something from his satchel...an orange? He lit something resembling a fuse on the orange before tossing it towards the monster, hoping it would take the bait...

Luffy, too, snapped back to attention and Shounen Mode (TM) when he heard the creature coming towards them. He brought up his fists, ready to throw out some mean punches to protect his nakama team mates. He couldn't discern the beast properly from where he was but he had enough sense at least to realize that the beast was bad news. The rubber boy swung just as Oingo tossed the orange bomb towards the monster, swinging upwards first. His arms stretched like a catapult, himself as the launcher and the pellet to fly and with a shout, released himself flying towards the beast.

"Gomu Gomu--" he started, cutting off as he hit against the beast headfirst, "Rocket!" Luffy finished his exclaimation and bounced off just as the orange bomb reached its target. The powder monkey was blown backwards by the force of the hit, arm stretching out to grab on another tree branch as he swung himself back up onto the trees and grinned once more.

Ichigo was braced and ready. They could leave this thing to him - he'd taken down worse. "Hey! Chicken-legs!" he shouted, drawing the thing's attention away from Oingo and Ryuuzaki. "That's right, over here!" Its head turned to look at the noisy orange thing, and Ichigo ran straight at it. He wished he had more room to swing his sword (if he'd had room to swing downward, he probably could have taken its head off), but he'd just have to make do. At the last second, he altered his course to run past it, jabbing his sword point-first into its neck.

All this was the work of a second. Ichigo pulled the sword out as he dashed past, and spun around to face it once more, not letting his guard down for a second. He was ready for round two....but was the monster?

The creature was on its last legs obviously. And Oingo knew just how to finish him off. Another flash of the hand and he had three simple explosives between his fingers, fuses lit. He smirked wildly and made another dash inward.

"Time fer some cherry desert, ugly!" he cried, tossing them into the newly acquired neck hole before diving behind some cover. "You might wanna duck. Them things is small, but they pack a punch--" His words were cut off by a huge explosion from the creature, his bombs obviously doing the trick.

L hadn't charged into the fray, he saw little point and he was much better on the defensive anyway. The rest of group, however, seemed happy to charge and see what happened. L ducked behind a rock for the explosion and then peeked back over the rock.

After the creature had been cut, bombed and battered it was looking very much worse for wear. It gave one last loud, emphatic, squawking roar before it collapsed. Its breathing was now heavy, labored and weak. The creature makes another roar that comes out more as a whimper and looks pathetic.

He didn't quite want to finish the thing off, even if it had tried to eat them.

"We had best keep moving, perhaps it has called friends."

Ichigo walked straight up to it and sliced his blade straight through its neck. "Yeah, we'd better keep moving." He had no qualms about finishing off a monster. With any luck, whatever the thing's call attracted would eat this thing's body before going after them. He wiped the gore off his sword and slung it over his back again. "Let's go."

Luffy watched from his tree branch as the others made quick work of the beast, and then swung down once it was over and the group agreeing to L's remark. Grinning still despite the happenings, the rubber boy only hurried ahead of the others while they were still busy and randomly jabbed his finger in a direction straight ahead. "Let's go that way! I think there might be something cool there!" he exclaimed with quite a bit of excitement. He could just smell the adventure that awaited them!

...or it could just be something delicious from the forest, the boy really didn't know. It smelled pre-tty good nevertheless!
