Though the people on his journal had been very helpful-and some very entertaining-Peony had decided to go looking for his lost rappig himself.

So there he was, going down the halls of the Victoria II, a small troupe of rappigs trailing and snuffling about curiously behind him. The image was made even more bizarre by his clothes, his royal garments used for special occasions. He was, at the moment, fighting with the headdress, and concentrating on his footing to keep from tripping all over the cloak that trailed after him. A royal attendant, almost lost among the rappigs, was trying to get him to keep the clothes on.

"I have no time for this, my baby is missing... I'll be fine! I'm just joining another ship, it's not like there's some fancy ceremony for all this!" With that, he tossed the headdress at the poor girl, and worked on getting himself out of at least one of the damn layers of the outfit ( ... )

Jade (both of them) looked up slowly when he heard the door literally slam open. He had only the briefest glances at the situation - Peony barreling towards him, a horde of rappigs in his wake - before his old (a certainly heavier) friend caught both the Jade's in a tackle.

Or perhaps it was a hug. Jade couldn't quite tell, to preoccupied was he with remaining upright and trying to make sure the other Jade still had room to breathe. Not surprisingly, the rappig in his arms squealed delightedly and attempted to nuzzle both of them at the same time.

To complete matters, of course, Peony's hair bauble pinged into the side of his glasses, possibly denting them.

"Y-Your Majesty," Jade said around a mouthful of blond hair, voice shaky as he tried to deal with the squirming rapping in his hands. "What a pleasant surprise." On the last few syllables, a tone of amusement (with perhaps the smallest hint of affection) crept into his voice and his smirked as best he could.

Righting himself, though not releasing either Jade immediately, Peony swatted his hair out of his face and over a shoulder, grinning at his friend. "I see you've found him!"

He paused, grin softening a little as he rubbed at the rappig's ears. "Or did he find you? That seems more likely." Taking it upon himself to adjust Jade's glasses, only when they were properly straight did he finally relieve his friend of the attack-hug he'd given him. The other rappigs gathered about their legs in the meantime, seeming rather excited to see their 'daddy's' friend.

Saphir, however, stayed closer to Peony's legs than Jade's. Peony pretended not to notice, for the sake of the poor thing and its dignity. "I almost wanted to send you a letter back for Lunasa, but then I decided to come see you myself~ And then I had to decide whether I wanted to warn you or not."

Taking the rappig version of his friend from him, for its own good, he beamed at him. "I figured it'd be more fun to surprise you."

Jade mirrored Peony's grin with a smile of his own, abet considerably more sardonic. In a show of eloquent patience, he managed to not roll his eyes at the other man's almost (but not really) bothersome mother-henning. He did frown, however, ever-so-slightly, when he looked down and noted the remaining rappigs had cut off all escape routes. Curses.

"I thought it seemed odd my mailbox had remained unmolested all this time." Jade said calmly. "Though I admit, I hadn't expected you to show up, especially considering recent events." A small smirked tugged the corner of his lips and he gladly relinquished the rappig-Jade to its proper owner.
