Spending the evening with just Heihachi sounded like a very pleasant idea. He knew Heihachi, wouldn't have to keep second-guessing everything, the way he rather felt he had to with just about everyone else on the ship...even Kambei, now.
Spotting Heihachi, he smiled, calling out "Heihachi-dono!" as he hurried over towards where the other man was standing.

Unlike Gorobei and Kambei who both possessed an oddly ageless quality and hadn't changed at all since Kanna, Katsu had, although the differences were subtle. It made sense, after all; he was still young, still growing into the person he wanted to be. That year since Kanna had stripped a little more of the childish roundness from his face and chiselled his expression with a little more maturity, though that was greatly softened when he smiled.
Heihachi was willing to bet the girls in town would still go crazy over him, and the thought made him grin. Katsu had never seemed to like that kind of attention.

Heihachi didn't seem to have changed at all since Katsushiro had seen him last, which was rather comforting. Kambei and Gorobei, from what little he'd seen of them so far, didn't seem to have changed either - outwardly, at least. If their personalities had shifted over the last year, Katsu had yet to discover it...and rather hoped he wouldn't. If they were still all the same, he could pick up from where he'd left off, perhaps.
But that remained to be seen.
He noticed Heihachi's grin, and, although the sight of Heihachi grinning was hardly unusual, wondered exactly what had prompted it - it was just too late after catching sight of Katsu to be solely about that. "What's so funny?" he asked, wanting in on the joke.
