Characters: Heihachi Hayashida and Katsushiro Okamoto
Content: Heihachi invites Katsu out to dinner so they can reminisce on old times and maybe talk out the Sensei problem.
Setting: Some restaurant in Trewe.
Time: Evening, once the ship's repairs are nearly completed.
Warnings: None? I think Katsu and Hei are the most harmless of the Seven Samurai.
As promised, Heihachi was waiting for Katsushirou on the docks, feeling more upbeat than he had been in the last few days. The 4423 was finally starting to regain a hint of its former glory, with most of the evidence of the bombs cleaned up and the damage fixed. Heihachi enjoyed staying busy, but the uneasiness of being stuck in port after Jushirou left them had overcast the whole ordeal with an unpleasant sense of urgency. He would be a lot happier once they were back in the air again.
He was also pleased with the opportunity to do something nice for Katsu. The young man seemed determined to follow Kambei again - an impulse that Heihachi could understand all too well - but considering the trouble that seemed to follow the ship, and the fact that Kambei had taken on another student in Katsushiro's absence...neither of those were exactly easy to take in, and Heihachi hadn't had much of a chance to see how Katsu was settling in to the odd lifestyle of a pirate ship. That mere fact was probable enough to offend Katsu's strong sense of honour, assuming it was still as rigid as Heihachi remembered it being.
He'd thought about whether it would be polite to invite Gorobei and Kambei along, but the former could be a little overbearing, especially when it came to important matters of the heart, and he was pretty sure that Katsu wouldn't open up if Kambei was around. The tension between them was still too heavy, but Heihachi had high hopes that they would get through it somehow.
