Danny teetered on the edge of consciousness until they finally made it back to the ship. Then, Danny decided to just pass out. Hopefully no worries of Zombies would keep him from taking his much deserved nap.

If he'd have known that he was currently in the care of one Doctor Jade Curtiss, he probably would have been on his feet and running for the door. Something to be said about being weary of doctors, and even that, one as creepy as Jade.

But, Danny remained oblivious as he slept on his bed in the medical ward.

Well, lucky for Danny he was not in the care of Doctor Curtiss. Not that having Miyo as a doctor was really any better.

Miyo had decided to stay behind and with good reason: she knew the casualties would come steadily trickling in. But, ah, that wasn't the right word was it? They weren't casualties. Yet.

She turned back to her not-yet-a-causality patient to check his status. Ah, still comatose it seemed. Wait, that wasn't the right word either. Yet, perhaps. She would see in due time if he would wake up. Or not. (How was she to know the full effects of this strange "zombie" disease?)

And at that moment, Danny took the appropriate time to groan. Feeling groggy, drained and aching in places he didn't think he should, Danny slowly came to.

He had a head ache unlike anything else to boot, not that all that florescent white lighting was doing a damned thing to help.

"....Wha?"

Miyo looked down as she heard a sound come from the boy. Oh, it looked like there would be one less casualty today. Perhaps.

"Welcome back," she said with a sly smile, leaning over him so the her hair fell across her face, giving her a dark look. At least now that fluorescent lightening wouldn't be shining directly in her eyes, hmm?

"How are you feeling?" Miyo almost added "peckish?" to the end of that statement, but it was a bit early to accuse the boy of becoming what he had just encountered. Though, the disease did seem to spread in quite an alarming way.

She drew back from him then. Best to be on the safe side, though a part of her lamented the lack of "intimate" treatment she would be able to give her patient this time.

Hijikata grumbled as he dragged himself to the medical ward, muttering choice words and curses under his breath as the man clutched on the wound that was bleeding profusely upon his left shoulder. He had no idea when the hell he even got the injury - he certainly didn't feel it out on the battlefield but now with all the adrenaline of battle disspating, the pain had come in.

And fuck if it didn't hurt. The boatswain had almost doubled over the moment the intense pain hit him and he had almost blacked out. That wouldn't be all too dignified then, really. So he had grudgingly dragged himself to the medical ward (god, he hated this place), face set with a rather dark expression as Hijikata entered the ward, the cloth he had used to stop the bleeding now rather soaked with his blood and it was apparent that the bleeding still hadn't stopped.

Jade picked up the sound of cursing from two rooms away, and rolled his eyes in preparation - the Lt. Commander was never pleasant to deal with at the best of times, and if he was down in the medical ward, it could only mean something had happened to make him particularly surly.

He cleared the exasperated frown off of his face and walked towards the shambling sounds of Hijikata bowling through the medical ward. "Something the matter, Lt. Commander?"

I love you too bb, even if Rou doesn't. mayovice September 24 2008, 02:43:08 UTC
Suppressing the urge to snap at the doctor, Hijikata instead let an annoyed frown cross his features as he turned to Jade, the corners of his mouth twitching downwards. The boatswain was in no mood to be patient and glared at the injury on his shoulder as he removed the blood-sodden cloth used to soak the blood coming out from the wound.

"Shoulder injury," he grunted in an irritable sort of manner, unblinking at the sight of the otherwise horrendous gash. He had seen worse, and this was more of an annoyance more than anything else to him, in all honesty. "And the wound won't stop bleeding fro some reason. Its already been around five minutes."

Jade's overly amused attitude faded, and was instead replaced by a curious sort of worry. "What precisely were you hit with?" he said, already grabbing up more gauze to stopper the flow. "And I'll need your shirt and jacket out of the way - would you rather take them off, or should I cut them off?"

Perhaps one of the only people to willingly visit the medical quarters, Ryohei made his way through the doors shortly after returning his things to his quarters. Kangaryuu was happy to be in a stationary place, less insane and zombie infested, and was sleeping in the makeshift pouch that he hung off the end of his bed.

"Dr. Curtiss?" he headed back to the usual corner he stationed himself in whenever he needed the doctors, taking a seat and waiting. He was trying, extremely trying, in fact, to not scratch at where he'd previously been bitten. While he had thrown out the gauze he'd had on his arms, he hadn't had the chance to clean off any blood just yet. He'd wait to see what Jade said about the injury, then clean up.

Jade walked out of his office at Sasagawa's voice, face set in an odd sort of cheery determination. It wasn't everyday he got to see the after-effects of an infected zombie bite, of all things. Really, it was a pity he hadn't been able to procure a live sample...

"Ah, Sagasawa. Glad to see you're still with us." He removed one gloved hand from his pocket and fiddled habitually with his glasses, nodding at Ryohei to move towards the exam table. "Now if you'd situate yourself over there, we'll see if that's a future possibility as well~"

Completely unaffected by the strange cheer, Ryohei nodded with a grin and moved over towards the exam table without anther word. Hopping up to take a seat, he leaned to rest his arms against the top of his legs, waiting for further instructions.

"That healer's magic fixed it up, but it's like it's..." he waved his hand in a vague gesture, expression turning lopsided. "It's extremely itchy! And it feels kinda weird."

He didn't know what could cause that, but maybe he had zombie germs now? That couldn't be any good. His hands were almost like prized possessions!

Jade quirked a brow at Sagasawa, both in amusement and pure curiosity. Healing magic was usually quite thorough - it was odd and a bit worrisome that there could be any side-effects. At the very least, though, it seemed as though the cook wasn't infected. The young woman had seen to that much.

He nodded and walked towards Sagasawa. "Show me the bite site."

Bidoof didn't actually know the way to the Infirmary. After all, the Victoria was so huge, and really was quite like a maze for a small bidoof like himself. Good thing Garfield was here, yup yup! If it wasn't for Garfield, who knows where he would've ended up. By golly, he might've ended up wandering around forever with a hurt paw!

Carefully trotting into the infirmary on three paws, he sat up on his hind paws and looked around for one of the doctors. And realsed belatedly that he didn't know who the doctors were. "Are there any doctors in?"

YOU'RE JUST... NOT SO FAST. justundertall October 2 2008, 02:02:59 UTC
Truth be told, Garfield really didn't have much on his hands, being just a mere cook an all. Everyone was far more busy with the injuries their own meals, really. And besides, there were the other cooks to do the cooking - it was clear that the humans trusted each other more than a walking talking cat like him to do the work now. So with nothing on his paws, the feline took the liberty of accompanying Bidoof (his one good friend on the ship so far) to the medical ward to get his paw checked after having it been stepped on by the first mate.

Garfield poked his head in after Bidoof, himself scanning the area to see if the doctors were in - though he supposed they were busy with all that they had to do. "I guess there should be..." the tabby commented as he look around the ward. "I mean, there are patients so I suppose the doctor must be attending to them."

Jade was in a spare patient room looking for extra gauze when he heard yet another set of voices out in the lobby. Somewhat curious, he strode quietly into the other room, eyebrow quirked, and went to see who his next patients were.

"Good afternoon," he said smoothly, "What seems to be the problem?" A year ago, Jade would likely have registered some surprise at seeing non-humans wandering about as part of the ship, but times had changed and he was used to (if not entirely familiar with) seeing to such crew members.

Bidoof nearly jumped a foot in the air at the sudden sound of a new voice. Oof! That nearly gave him a heart attack, by golly! When did the doctor -- that was a doctor, right? -- come into the room?

He held up his hurt paw, where it was bent at a funny angle. "I wasn't looking where I was going and got stepped on, Mr Doctor. Could you make it better, please?"
