Bidoof didn't actually know the way to the Infirmary. After all, the Victoria was so huge, and really was quite like a maze for a small bidoof like himself. Good thing Garfield was here, yup yup! If it wasn't for Garfield, who knows where he would've ended up. By golly, he might've ended up wandering around forever with a hurt paw!

Carefully trotting into the infirmary on three paws, he sat up on his hind paws and looked around for one of the doctors. And realsed belatedly that he didn't know who the doctors were. "Are there any doctors in?"

YOU'RE JUST... NOT SO FAST. justundertall October 2 2008, 02:02:59 UTC
Truth be told, Garfield really didn't have much on his hands, being just a mere cook an all. Everyone was far more busy with the injuries their own meals, really. And besides, there were the other cooks to do the cooking - it was clear that the humans trusted each other more than a walking talking cat like him to do the work now. So with nothing on his paws, the feline took the liberty of accompanying Bidoof (his one good friend on the ship so far) to the medical ward to get his paw checked after having it been stepped on by the first mate.

Garfield poked his head in after Bidoof, himself scanning the area to see if the doctors were in - though he supposed they were busy with all that they had to do. "I guess there should be..." the tabby commented as he look around the ward. "I mean, there are patients so I suppose the doctor must be attending to them."

Jade was in a spare patient room looking for extra gauze when he heard yet another set of voices out in the lobby. Somewhat curious, he strode quietly into the other room, eyebrow quirked, and went to see who his next patients were.

"Good afternoon," he said smoothly, "What seems to be the problem?" A year ago, Jade would likely have registered some surprise at seeing non-humans wandering about as part of the ship, but times had changed and he was used to (if not entirely familiar with) seeing to such crew members.

Bidoof nearly jumped a foot in the air at the sudden sound of a new voice. Oof! That nearly gave him a heart attack, by golly! When did the doctor -- that was a doctor, right? -- come into the room?

He held up his hurt paw, where it was bent at a funny angle. "I wasn't looking where I was going and got stepped on, Mr Doctor. Could you make it better, please?"

Garfield himself jumped a little at the sudden unexpected arrival of the new voice. Shaking his head vigorously and then turning to see the doctor entering through a side door. Ah, so that's where the doctor had been then. The tabby steeled himself and inclined his head while looking at Jade curiously. "You'rrrre the doctorrrr then, I presume?" He asked, his accented 'r's now coming in once more. Those always took a while before kicking in.

"And if you'rrrre wonderrrring who stepped on it," Garfield added after Bidoof had spoken, "You can ask Mrrrr. Edgeworth about it. Didn't even apologize to him as well, he didn't. Utterrrrly disappointing, I say. No rrrrespect."

"Yes," Jade said calmly after the two had finished speaking, "I'm Dr. Curtiss."

He bent down to examine the first animal's paw, and quirked a brow at the second's comment. "I'm sure the Commander was simply...preoccupied." Jade made note to have a small chat with the first mate about watching his step - stomping on the crew created far too much work for the medical staff, after all~

Jade stood up and adjusted his glasses habitually. "Well, I'm fairly sure your paw isn't broken, though it's likely fractured. I can't know for sure without an x-ray scan."

Bidoof had an uneasy look on his face at Garfield's comments. Mr. Edgeworth couldn't be that bad... He was the First Mate, after all. Surely Garfield made a mistake? "I'm sure Mr. Edgeworth had other things on his mind."

He perked up when Dr. Curtiss started talking about x-rays. Waving his uninjured front paw, he said cheerfully, "O-Ooh, I've never had an x-ray scan before. What do they do?"

Garfield inclined his head a little in greeting once Jade had introduced himself. "Ensign Garrrrrfield Tabbis, though Garrrrfield will do just fine. And he's Bidoof," the feline added with a gesture of his paw. "I'm one of the cooks while he's the shipwrrrright." Though the doctor would've possibly already known of Bidoof - from what the beaver told him, he had been on the ship a bit more longer than the tabby himself after all. "And as forrr Mrrr. Edgeworrrth, even if he is... preoccupied as you said that doesn't give him any rrright to step on you." Honestly, humans these days. Couldn't they spare a though about their animal counterparts at the very least? It was all really rather annoying ( ... )
