"Ness Lakehaven, you better be glad I can't walk!"

Rikku had wheeled up on deck and spotted Ness. Had she been able to walk, she would have run over to the medic and given him what for. As it was, she settled for rolling over and swatting his hat off with the screwdriver in her hand.

Rikku gestured to a barrel. "Then sit down, cuz I've got time to hear the story," she replied, crossing her arms.

It's a story Levi will be writing fanfic of \o/

Ness had little choice but to obey and sat down on the barrel.

"When I left, I went to Kropmork," Ness started. He decided to leave out the facts that he spoke to Joshua on the way out and that there were no flights to Kropmork at four in the morning. "I figured there was as good a place as any to do it."

"But you were only gone a week! How did you get to that hellhole and back!"

Was Ness keeping secrets? Rikku frowned.

While it was well-known Ness used his PSI for healing, it was actually an obscure fact that he used it for other things too - teleportation to places he had been before being one of them. Ness actually wasn't all that sure anyone from the Way aside from Alphonse knew of this.

"I have my own special way," he dismissed. He didn't even consider the fact it made him sound like he was keeping something from her.

Rikku rolled her eyes. "Ness, if you're not going to tell me the whole story," she muttered, trailing off. Geez. Was it so hard to tell the truth?

"Fine, I teleported," he answered. He didn't want to be telling this story in the first place, but realistically, he knew he would eventually.

Rikku paused. Teleported? "Uh...you what?"

[eighthmelody]

Ness tilted his head to one side. "Teleported," he repeated, as if he was trying to explain an incredibly obvious concept to her.

Another pause, then Rikku started ranting. "Teleporting? When do you learn how to teleport? And can ya do it now?"

Ness blinked. "Um...I could always do it. I can go anywhere I've been to before geographically...I could do it now if you wanted..."

Rikku nodded. "You've never told anyone! Show me please?"

This had gone from a "yay Ness is back" to an "oh, crap, what can he do?" kind of day....

"Sure," Ness blinked. Hey, at least he had gotten out of telling the story now. "Where do you want me to go? I could bring something back as proof..."

"Go to my room, and bring Turtle back," replied Rikku. "And then finish telling me what happened!"

So close, too.

Hopping off the barrel, Ness faced the opposite direction of Rikku's room. While Ness did indeed have the ability to teleport, it came with the odd requirement of having to run at top speed in order for it to work. Dashing off in a straight line, he went as fast as he could, a swirling portal opening in front of him and swallowing him up.

A few minutes later, emerged onto the deck behind Rikku, the little cat in his arms.

Said little cat was terrified, and happily jummped from Ness' arms to the deck, and then into Rikku's lap. When a strange human boy comes out of no where and scoops you up, you're panicked to.

Petting Turtle, Rikku turned and gaped at Ness. "Wow. Just...wow."
