TEOCUITLATL: SQUARE H3

Nov 25, 2007 00:01

This square covers very little ground. There is nothing but sand here and the edge of the island. A short distance from the edge there is the start of the jungle, however it does not quite enter this area ( Read more... )

After the Saevio was securely landed on the beach, Selena had made immediate orders for the all able-bodied crew members to meet her on the island. She'd spent most of the landing in her quarters with her machete. The blade had been dull after quite some time without being used, so it had needed sharpening. Once the blade was to her satisfaction she'd strapped it to her hip and left, ready to make land ( ... )

After forcing to nurse that horrid headache for the entire trip, Sync was feeling irritable enough to strangle anything that dared to even breathe wrongly in his direction. And as such the teen made sure to prep his fighting gloves extra thick whilst doting on steel-toed boots for insurance. After all, it'd been a while since he got in a good old-fashioned brawl, and he wasn't going to let the opportunity pass right on by ( ... )

Luckily Arietta hadn't had as much to drink as Sync (she wouldn't have been able to stomach it if she had) so she had recovered a bit quicker, which gave her the agonizing task of worrying about Sync when he did not want to be worried about. She had tried to back off but worry brought her back to him again and again. Not exactly the best thing to do when he was ready to go off on the next person that annoyed him ( ... )

Even though the ground wasn't hard Sync could still feel movement behind him as Arietta kept close to his backside. And so when they were a good distance away from the captain and the rest of the crew he abruptly stopped, several yards away from the edge of the jungle, before calling out on the latter with what she was doing.

"Keep to my side where I can see you. I don't want to be ambushed by the enemy just because I thought it was just you behind me." He said, trying to rub away the aftereffects of his previous hangover as he did so. The last thing he needed right now was for them to make some stupid mistake that would eventually have them surrounded by those barbaric idiots.

Arietta nearly bumped into Sync as he abruptly stopped in front of her. She had been paying enough attention to his movements to stop before she crashed into him, but she tottered a bit on her feet and stepped back to regain her balance.

She nodded and moved to his side, still sticking a bit too close, but that was really the best way for them to stick together. Sync's motion did not go unnoticed, and she looked up at him with the same alarm she had over the past few days on the ship. "Does it still hurt?" Arietta had vowed never to drink whatever that was they had had at the ball again, both for her sake and for Sync's. It made them both feel horrible afterward.

"It's fine." Sync replied back in that usual apathetic tone, lowering his hands until they fell to his sides before continuing onwards towards the edge of the jungle. Whatever was done was done, and the last thing he needed was for it to be dragged on longer than necessary.

And as with Arietta, the teen made a vow to never touch whatever tasted even remotely like what he had on the night of the Ball. Ever.

Once they finally reached the lush rain forest Sync used his boot to push away the thinner stalks as they began their trek into the jungle.

Treasure hunting. That was a little cliché, wasn't it? Maybe so, but Leon had actually been looking forward to something like this. It was something new; a change of pace from the usual routines, and he was sure it would turn out exciting ( ... )

Sherry wasn't quite sure where she was, how she'd gotten there, or how in the world she was going to get home. But she did know that she was in a pipe, on a ship, visiting one of the engines that her father and mother had helped create when she was almost interrupted by the crew members. The next few hours had been spent in quite a bit of panic along the ship, crawling as quietly as she could manage from one air duct to another ( ... )

Leon was just about to ascend to the main deck of the ship, when a peculiar noise gave him pause... it was a loud. Some sort of noise that he couldn't identify, followed by a bang. Turned and hurried to what he thought to be the source of the commotion, brows furrwing as he paused in a nearby empty corridor. There was no one there, and all else was quiet-- maybe it had come from one of the rooms branching off? He would have hated to leave the ship if something had just malfunctioned or broken somewhere.

...But, wait. There were more sounds. Soft... thumps, maybe, coming from overhead..? Tilted his head back, gazing up at the metal ducts above. Was there seriously something in the airways? RatsBefore Leon could ponder the matter any further, he heard the sound of groaning metal, blue eyes widening in realization. There was no time to dodge. Though he was somehow able to duck his head and throw his arms upwards to shield himself, the falling debris, dust, and... whatever was shocklingly heavy was not deterred. Leon ended up on the ( ... )

The air was driven from her lungs when she fell, and she couldn't sneeze, breathe or answer the man's question. Oh no. She'd been caught! What did they do the children who stowaway on ships even if it hadn't been her intent! ? Would she go to jail? Or... or... would they throw her off the side of the ship?!

Maybe if it was a Tortugan ship, the little girl rationalized. But this was the BAF, they... wouldn't do that right?! She coughed weakly, vaguely aware that she was on top of the groaning, sputtering older man and rolled off him as quickly as she could, scrambling up the wall to stand and looking around for another duct or crevice to crawl into. Her only response was to immediately apologize.

"S-sorry, sir!" she wheezed and wiped the dust from her face, then tried to shuffle away as quickly as her sore little body would take her.
