I loved this when I read it as a Pinch Hit and I still love it now. The blue light and Remus' interactions with it were especially inspired to me. The voice changing was brilliant and actually made a lot of sense in terms of gender in the afterlife. Would it even matter? Of course not! In a way, though real, the details of the voice were probably all in Remus' head and that was really effective.

Yes, I will admit that at first I was a bit worried that it would have an angsty ending. So many fics like this are. And, yeah, I know how the original ends, so I was even more worried. But, bless you, you didn't go there. And THAT was a brilliant (and happy) twist. This bit made me all teary: “Wotcher Moony.”

Remus felt tears of his own sliding down his cheeks, but he didn’t think he’d cared less about anything in his life.

“Wotcher Sirius.”

Thank you! That really means a lot, considering how long I've admired your writing :)

And I'm glad you liked the happy ending. I just couldn't make it sad, I just couldn't!
