On Sunday, on the hotel cable (Syfy, if I remember correctly), I caught most of Prince Caspian. Do not get me started on this film. The plot loosely followed, key character development was changed, and all right, they attempted to "explain" Susan. As a kid, I read them in published order first, and re-read them in chronological order. I'm pretty sure that back then I'd have advocated for chrono order.

Now, as a grownup and a writer, I'm not sure I would see it the same way, but it's been a loooooooong time since I read any of them.

Ah, but they are doing the films in published order. That's half of what's got me wondering. With new generations reading them chronologically, what does it mean seeing the films in the original published order? Versus someone who's only read them published order.

Published, absolutely. Both as Lewis never expected to write the whole series, and as I liked the sense that things are revealed later.
