Happy birthday!

How do you like that smoker? I've been thinking about getting either a bullet smoker like that or a char-griller which is just a regular grill with a smoke box on the side.

FYI, I don't know if you have experimented with different woods, but mesquite is terrible. Its way too pungent and almost tastes sour. Blech! Hickory is a good all around wood, and fruit woods are a little sweeter.

Do you know the wonders of cook's illustrate? They have possibly some of the best recipes ever. They also do the show America's Test Kitchen.

Thanks!

So far it seems good, but i've just used it the one time and it wasn't exactly full blown, long and slow smoking. It certainly has tons of great reviews though. And a large fan base. We didn't really consider an offset smoker (with the box on the side) because we already have a big gas grill and the two together would take up way too much room on the deck.

I haven't tried many woods aside from mesquite and hickory. I used mesquite a lot in the gas grill because it was cheap. But i probably wasn't getting much effect from it...
