Ok, so I'm just gonna go ahead and post my pictures from the Met. There won't be a ton of commentary, it's mostly just photos of art - a few paintings, a couple crafty type things, and a lot of statues.
Ooooh, beautiful photos! That painting of Oedipus is my favorite painting at the Met. :D
And here's something hilarious: When I last went to the Met, I took almost the EXACT SAME PHOTO of Perseus' feet!! Same angle and everything! O________O HAHAHA.
Thanks! :D I really enjoyed taking pictures of the sculptures, in particular. And I was really pleased to see the Oedipus painting, too! Mainly because I love Satoshi Kon films and Paprika, but it was really gorgeous in person.
Oh man, that's so funny! XDDD Though, I guess it's not too weird, his feet are really nicely done, and they're right there at eye level, too. XD;
You're welcome! :D I hope you can make it there someday, in fact, I think you're probably a lot closer to NYC than I am! I've only been twice to the Met, and both times didn't spend a lot of time there, so I'm hoping for another visit one day myself. ^^
These are some beautiful photos! The Met is such a great place. ♥ Your closeups are amazing, too (there are hairs on the eyebrows and even moles!! *flails*)
Thank you! :D And it is really awesome, I'm gonna have to go back someday soon, since this last trip was mostly just for the McQueen exhibit without a whole lot of time for anything else.
And weren't the moles and eyebrow hairs cool? *3* I think I liked taking pics of the sculptures so much because they're like super big dollies. XD
They were really awesome! :D Haha, yeah, that was a little odd about Medusa's head, though I imagine it might've had something to do with weight and structural integrity? I dunno, that's just what I figured it might be. :B
Ah, the exhibit was cool! Very crowded, of course, and no photography allowed (boohoo!) but I got the book they were selling at the end instead. There was quite a lot of stuff in it, with cool set-ups and videos and things. ^^
