Went to Kjell & Co on Friday and strapped the huge cardboard box with computer parts onto a fold-out luggage trolley I have, and took the bus home with it. Then I called Tractor Guy and he said he could come out on Sunday (today) and help me put it all together.

Excellent news! :) If hope you'll be happy with the new computer. I'm a little curious about how you figured out how to place the old broken HD. Is that something common or just a happy accident?

I think it was just a happy accident!

I'm back on my Eee now, because I was trying to put my old DVD burner and the other (not broken) HD in the new computer, but I can't extract them from the old one without dissasembling it completely -- the old chassis was a bit too small, so everything is really cramped and fits together like a jigsaw. I can't remove the DVD burner without first removing the processor fan. And I don't really want to start messing with the motherboard without someone beside me who can tell me what I definitely shouldn't do...
