I am getting the strangest spam. Empty accounts are leaving comments on entries in other LJs (comedy or special interests) I abandonned long ago, praising the journal in generic terms. That's it, no links, not even hidden. Why are they doing this?

i got one of those the other day. empty new account praising a semi-dead LJ. i also get spam from new LJ accounts in email regularly now. plus some weeks ago someone asking for advice in OS commerce on this LJ, as if i were the person to ask.

and all this stuff happening at the same time LJ is getting slammed by this DDoS assault. an assault LJ can't quite seem to get a handle on, and for all their efforts, LJ ends up dysfunctional to the point where sometimes commenting is broken.

this is a sad world. the barbarians aren't just at the gates, they're in.

I've just got one of these. The incongruity between the contents of the post and the comment is excellent.
