I've been having my own "dark night of the soul", so I definitely feel for you. And I definitely believe that some of those things (like grounding) work and are true, because I've DONE them. If it's "all in our heads", so what?? If they work for you, they work, and there's no harm in doing/believing in them. I don't think there's any ONE RIGHT WAY for anything. Some spiritual paths teaches that we are only dreaming this life, that nothing really exists, while others teach that we are all connected. Perhaps all these things are true, and also none of them. Does it matter? I don't know, but I believe that it's okay not to be sure. I only know that if something works for me, I will continue to do it.

Eh, if it *Works* for you, that is proof enough. (you can not Disprove the Spirits either)

*If* 'the whole gemstone" is too big for our minds to grasp, that does not make 'the facets' unworthy of study. Indeed, one might learn quite a bit about the whole stone, in this way.

How do we define "God?" I agree that it's beyond all human understanding. I agree with "Xeno's Paradox" (the Babylon 5 concept that there's an infinite number of dots between you and "God" - no matter how "advanced" you have become). I like your description of a gemstone with many facets (an infinite number, actually). I feel that any "cultural" conception of deity is too limited to be the whole truth. Religions grow up around a prophet or martyr and their message (which is almost always the same- love each other), but once the priests, politicians and administrators take over, the message and the religion becomes corrupted and used for secular power. That's why I cannot follow any of them.

I think you can create your own rituals and prayers. I think Divinity will still "hear" them. If it has real meaning to you, it will work. They may even work better ( ... )
