Still looking for a backlit keyboard but on the other hand, acquired the Script's "Science and Faith" album at Borders. Mourning the loss of locations closest to my workplace. The Barnes & Noble is not as enticing for purchases ( Read more... )

Saitek's "Eclipse II" keyboard is a nice one, offering a light intensity dial and three colours of backlighting. It is not ergonomic (if that is a factor for you) and as all technology they obsoleted it so you may need to search and see what the model after the model after that one is like. But it does look really cool in a dark room, alongside an illuminated mouse.

Sounds awesome! I should've specified that I'm annoyed at not having a laptop keyboard that lights up, but I'll be sure to remember your recommendation when I get a desktop.

If you're a Windows person, the Thinkpads (some models) have a function key combo for an LED that shines down from the lid towards the keyboard. That would be frontlit, but it is still useful in the dark.

Ironically, it is the Thinkpad I'm complaining about; I almost miss the glare from my HP but I'm giving that venerable veteran its due and not carting it around.
