I continue to be impressed with Ambleside Online's literature choices.

One of their books for second grade is The Burgess Animal Book for Children, which we did as a bedtime story instead of spread out week-by-week as they suggest. Definitely not something I would have picked up on my own, but Leif absolutely adored it. We finished it last night,

I've got most of the Thorton W. Burgess books. My school library was throwing them out and as I was the only person to have read them when they were there... I got to take them.

Haven't read the one you linked to. Most of them are like Kipling's Just So Stories. But with forest instead of jungle creatures.
