For the handful of you who aren't already aware, I'm currently 20 weeks pregnant. No offense meant to anyone who was filtered out - I didn't feel like having it be general UCD knowledge in case I found a job I wanted to apply for or something. Yep :) I have a friend currently trying to get into that with a degree in Anthropology. It's definitely something I'm thinking about. Not sure how many comparable programs there are out there.

congrats on the pregnancy! :) Have you found out what your having? How have things been going so far? Yeah babies!! :) Have you thought about postpartum doula work? You can make up to $20 an hour depending on nthe services you offer.

We've both thought about it. Sure, I'm the male half of the team, and thus not involved in birthing and children and stuff (*snort*), but I'm a handy cook and can haul garbage, and grab the new daddy out for a beer after the new mommy is overloaded with 5834954 relatives visiting and needs time ALONE.

and all that.

Even so, there's the yuppie part. If we coudl find a NPO or grant system that had nothign at all to do with a church group to go assist crisis pregnancies full time (including being a birth doula for jess), that would rock.

There's a couple places in Davis for sale that could even host 10-12 rooms for pregnancies/new moms. (of course, we lack money to pay for that sort of property. )

Man, what fun that would be.

Im part of a Doula service for low income women. ALl the births I have attended have been f or free :) I live near Detroit, so we have a never ending stream of women who need assistnace (including myself). Its very rewarding work, I hope she (both of you) can realize this dream someday :)

I knew you were pregnant, but didn't realize you were already half way there. Congrats :)
