First year I didn't have anything explicitly planned to do in a while, so this should be fun. xD

First day back at work from vacation, followed by several days off work and on pain meds after surgery (I'm fine). I apologize in advance for any bizarrely loopy GR comments I may make over the next week.

I just had the surgery yesterday morning, and I'll probably be spending tonight in the hospital. It seems to have gone well and the nurses say I'm doing a great job of moving around. No one ever seems to grasp my insanely high natural tolerance for opiates, so that's been fun, but otherwise I can't really complain.

Excellent! You know you're doing well when the nurses are supportive.

I'm doing well, thanks. Getting o er a very,very restful vacation due to coming down w/bronchitisthe within the first couple of days in. Got to rest in my room for seven days. So, yes,I'm doing well...time to sleep.

Hi! A green room! Yay! All is fine in this corner of Massachusetts. I'm off work today because I have a dentist appointment right in the middle of the day and it was not practical to go into work, come all the way back here and go back to work again on public transportation. And any excuse to not have to go into the craziness that can be my office! How's everyone?

Dentist was fine. Just a cleaning. I've spent so much money at the dentist this year that I was having anxiety about possibly more wrong. But thankfully nothing. Whew!

I'm doing okay, and have attempted to recruit a coworker, even before completely deciding that I'll be participating myself. So it goes. :)

Honestly, I've seen enough people combine the work they are doing, using Idol as a springboard for their novels. So I know it can work.

It works! Two of my three NaNo successes started as Idol entries or Home Game playing around, and there's at least two more on the future planning list.

Damn. I always say I'll go back and expand some my LJ Idol and I never do. I feel guilty now... but only guilty of betraying myself.

Okay. Why am I doing this instead of enjoying a few minutes more sleep? Last time I signed up for Idol my overriding emotion was mind numbing terror and dread, this time I'm enjoying watching everyone sign up. I get a huge kick out of seeing folks I remember from last year, and feel completely nostalgic when a newbie signs up.
