c121083 and I just got a cat. His name is Steamboat and he is a ten-year-old Scottish Fold whose owners had to give him up because their three-year-old son has asthma and is allergic to cats.

I can't recommend Bill Buford's book Heat enough.

Part of the reason I enjoyed it so much is that I had come from reading several very difficult books and Heat is a purely pleasurable read with virtually no difficulty entailed (I finished it in three days, being totally enthralled), but it's a fascinating perspective on the history of Italian/ ( Read more... )
