My Merlin Big Bang Illustrations

Aug 15, 2011 23:54

Last year when I read all of the wonderful Big Bangs I was determined to give it ago the year after, despite how utterly scary the idea of doing illustrations was to me. (And still is. lol) But a year later and I've just completed my first Big Bang!

HOLY FUCKING HELL!! That art of Arthur playing the bass is INCREDIBLE!!! wow seriously I just sat and stared at it for about ten mins. The shading and his face and his hair and his FINGERS!!! seriously I am in AWE!

Plus the darkness of the second art is so atmospheric - I wish I wasn't away this weekend so I could jump straight on this story, bit it'll be the first thing I read come Monday!

Truly amazing art hun!

I am so beyond thrilled that my artwork has inspired you to read the story because you need to! It's so wonderfully heart-felt it sucks you into Merlin and Arthur's world completely, and if you're anything like me you don't want to get back out! So thank you for letting me know and for all of your kind comments about my artwork. It really means a lot. I just hope you enjoy the story just as much! :)

Arthur playing the bass is really awesome.
Also I love how you illustrated the dark room and the grief in Merlin. Is it white charcoal on black paper?
Love the gif you made of the break art!

Thank you, I'm so glad that you like all the artwork! The illustration of Merlin is...well... everything white that I could get my hands on. lol Because white charcoal wasn't giving me the crisp whiteness I was after, I then used a white gel pen, a white liquid-marker and, if you can believe it, a chalk blackboard pen. ^.^ (By this point I was wondering whether I should have just used white paper and shaded it black but I persevered.) So thank you, I'm so pleased to know that it successfully translates his grief. :) Thanks for commenting.

*waves hand in front of face to break stare* Thank you, I'm so glad that you like the drawing of him so much! I wish I could have done more close ups of them but I just simply didn't have the time. So I'm so pleased that you like the one I did have time for! :) Thanks for commenting.

Oh my gods, amazing. Every single image.
That one of Arthur has me stunned.
Any chance at all you would consider allowing it out for a user icon (with credit)?

A user icon? Hmmm... I'm not entirely sure how that would work but if you can get it to work then go for it!.... And then maybe you could send me it? *is hopeful*

Anyway, thanks so much for your lovely comment! I'm so glad that you like all of the drawings! :)
