We totally do <3miss_oracleMay 21 2010, 19:20:27 UTC
[Babs' eyes flit open of their own accord and when she hears him snore, she's instantly frozen. Their fingers are clasped together on the bedspread in front of her, and she can see the rings. This may be the most vivid nightmare/dream combination ever.
She turns around to see who's naked-spooning her and in her shock due to a close-up of Dick Grayson, she accidentally elbows him in the stomach from pivoting just a liiiiiiittle too fast.]
[Best way to wake up, ever. Dick's halfway to punching her in the face before his eyes open and his fist rests against her nose. There is one blink. And a second. He drops his hand and it may or may not cope a totally unmeant feel.]
Wow. Am I going to get slapped if I mention that I don't remember last night?
[She does what she can to move out of the way of the punch, but it's tough when all of her limbs are tangled up in his. Luckily, it doesn't connect and he notices exactly who he's trying to get back at for the stomach-in-elbow.
With a sigh of relief, she plops back down on her pillow and stares up at the ceiling. Holding her hand above her, she examines the ring closely.]
If I could remember a damn detail myself, maybe you would. You really don't remember anything?
[He falls back too, shoulder to shoulder with her, and finally lifts his hand off her breast to wrap around the fingers hovering over her face. He pulls the ring toward him.] Not as nice as the one I gave you. Which leads me to believe this is a dream. Or a trap. A wonderful trap.
[He rolls over ontop of her and hey, they are so very naked under the sheets. Which rules out nightmare completely.] Does that make me Mr Barbara Gordon? [He grins down at her.]
[It's really tough to concentrate when Dick is all hands and happiness and all she can do is wonder where the hell they are. Even still, when he moves his hand, she can't help but feel a minor sense of loss. Oh, and a surge of hormones. Obviously. Come on. Barbara Gordon is only human.
Through the confusion, she knows there's nobody she'd rather be with in this totally realistic dream. She can dig it. Her grin still holds traces of a perplexed scowl as she looks up at Dick and arranges a few strands of messy hair away from his face.]
Well, I'm not changing my name, but my father would probably like some semblance of a traditional marriage out of me. Not that we're kicking this thing off very traditionally considering we don't remember a damn thing.
Roofies into the drinks of two very attractive people? Scarecrow-gone-goodness-and-rainbows?
[It's not that he's not serious, it's just... it's gotta be a dream, right? And if that's the case then there's no reason he shouldn't take advantadge. He turns his head enough to kiss the closest hand.]
And couldn't it be Barbara Gordon Grayson? I heard that's all the rage with the girls nowadays.
[She snorts in a fairly unladylike manner at the mention of a name change and puts a hand firmly on the back of his neck, pulling him closer. When their noses are brushing, she speaks in amused tones.] You know what's all the rage with the girls nowadays? [Her lips graze his and she gives his bottom lip a little nip.] Skipping straight to the honeymoon. None of those awkward family gatherings, stiff dresses, fancy finger foods. Just you, me, and apparently the Scarecrow's hallucinogenic toxin.
Right. [He's just breathing against her mouth, happily letting her do what she will.] Because that's just what I'd agree to, no awkward family gatherings. Just to make sure that your father really hated the idea of you marrying me.
[He draws lines down her jaw with his thumbs and smiles against her soft lips.] But for the record, in case we wake up and remember this? I want to see you in a wedding dress. I wouldn't skip that. Even for the honeymoon.
[Blaaaah! All of these sentimental feelings! Goddammit, Dick! She colors a little but does what she can to keep him from noticing by pulling him closer for a deep kiss. One of her hands finds itself raking nails lightly across one of his shoulder blades.]
[The first sign of trouble is obviously that there's somebody in her bed in the first place, but she brushes it off until her sleepy mind catches up with itself.
Her eyes instantly open and she sits up, looking down at her partner.
Because she never wears jewelry, the weight of the ring on her finger makes her throat tighten a little. How is she supposed to wake up Ted with all of these pieces coming together? She prods him in the side with a stiff finger, and keeps prodding until his eyes open. The being naked part isn't so bad.]
No, Ted. This is definitely not a dream. [She isn't shy about this -- obviously something happened last night that would make being stiff and embarrassed about it counterproductive. Besides, it's just Ted. She grabs his left wrist and waves his hand in front of him.]
Congratulations to the happy couple. What the hell happened last night? Do you remember?
Iiii have no idea. [He inspects the ring on his hand, looking thoughtful.] Hmn. I wouldn't put it past Booster to be doing a really elaborate prank. But the not-remembering thing, that doesn't sound like him --and I kinda doubt you and I got completely smashed last night.
